realme Buds T100 TWS – Full Review

realme Buds T100 TWS – Full Review

realme just recently launched its latest affordable true wireless (TWS) earbuds the realme Buds T100. It offers great sound quality, long-lasting battery and noise cancellation feature with a very good price point.

The realme Buds T100 is priced at PHP1,299 now available in all realme concept stores, authorized distributors and its online e-commerce stores on Shopee and Lazada.

Now, let’s check out what the realme Buds T100 has to offer.

Unboxing

The packaging box of the realme Buds T100 is made of a thick cardboard material in all white color with very minimal design.

Elements found printed on the box are an image of the Buds T100 on the front, brand logo and unique selling points of the device.

Inside the box we have the following contents: Buds T100 unit, charging case, ear tips, USB-C to USB-A cable, warranty card and user guide.

Design and Build Quality

The realme Buds T100 offers two colorways in Pop White and Punk Black for our review unit.

The charging case of the realme Buds T100 is very compact and it comes in a pebble-shaped design. It has a ultra-smooth A2 polishing with a matte finish effect or VDI spark finish which helps lessen fingerprint smudges.

On the front you have a realme logo and a single LED indicator light while a USB-C port at the bottom.

Opening the cover lid, the Buds T100 are easy to pick up from the yellow gold inlay.

It gets an an in-ear design with an angled silicone ear bulb tips combined with a long stem that has a flat oval part on the top where the touch sensors are located. It also has a smooth matte finish in color black.

It weighs only 4 grams for each earbuds making them lightweight to prevent fatigue.

The earbuds are snug fit and comfortable tight enough to stay in your ears during workouts or running.

The silicone tips are soft enough to block out the ambient noise and you get some extra pair of silicone tips in different sizes. We advice you try out the right ear tips for an immersive sound experience.

They get an IPX5 rating against water from spills, splashes and sweat which is perfect for working out in the gym.

As for durability, realme claims that the Buds T100 undergoes rigorous quality test with 5,000 charging plug test, 1,000 charging port stability tests, 10,000 opening/closing the charging case and 48 hours of high temperature/humidity testing.

Touch Controls and Connectivity

The touch controls for the Buds T100 resides on the top flat oval surface of the earbuds stem at the back.

The touch sensors are intuitive and responds well either touch or tapping it to do the necessary commands.

You can execute the following commands on the Buds T100:

  • Play/Pause – Double Tap (Left or Right Earbud)
  • Next Song – Triple-Tap (Left or Right Earbud)

You have two options to connect the Buds T100 to your preferred device either in Automatic or Manual pairing mode.

In Automatic pairing mode you just simply open the cover lid of the charging case and the earphones will instantly enters the pairing mode.

You may apply the manual pairing mode if both earbuds are being used or taken out of the charging case to pair it on a new device. Just press the touch sensor area with both fingers at the same time for 5 seconds.

For Android phones it supports Google Fast Pair, as soon as you open the cover lid of the realme Buds T100 it automatically connects to your device letting you pair them immediately.

The Buds T100  uses the latest Bluetooth 5.3 version with connection up to a distance of 10 meters away.

realme Link

The realme Link is an app that provides a single interface to pair, control, and connect all the IoT devices of realme.

Pairing with the realme Buds T100 on the realme Link app you get an extra control and audio optimization feature.

You can adjust the audio performance of the earbuds based on your preferred sound profile either in Bass Boost+, Balanced or Bright. So, if you like listening to heavy-bass tracks toggle on the Bass Boost+.

There’s also a Game Mode function for game enthusiasts when enabled can offer an 88ms super low latency providing audio performance and picture synchronization while playing heavy graphic games to improved gameplay experience.

We encounter that turning the Game mode on will slowly lower your battery life so it would be better to always bring along the charging case.

Sound Quality

We had a great time using the realme Buds T100 as it produced great sound quality thanks to its loaded 10mm dynamic bass drivers with PEEK+TPU titanium-plated composite diaphragm that generates high-quality audio performance with deep bass and clear audio.

The audio is quite impressive! We loved using it to listen to our favorite music in YouTube or Spotify then moving on to watch videos on Netflix.

Using the earbuds for phone or video calls in a quieter indoor area like Zoom, Viber or Messenger the microphone does a decent job of making you sound loud and clear on the other end.

In case you’re going to use it during outdoors, it features an AI ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) technology which lessen the background noise of your environment to give you clear calls and listen to your music or video without any intrusion.

The vocals are clear and prominent on the Buds T100 especially on higher-pitched female and male. Upper-mid instruments like a piano, snare drum, percussions, guitar are also well defined however too much on the volume bar may become too painful or harsh. We suggest to set the volume level at around 60 to 70 percent.

We can also hear the bass that’s quite punchy and thumps easily. Just like the song Regulate by Warren G, the song exhibits that sunny Californian lifestyle as we hear its smooth rhythms and a nice slow thumping bass on the earbuds.

Battery

The Buds T100 charging case is equipped with a 400mAh battery while each earbud gets a 40mAh. realme claims that you get up to 6 hours of playtime just with the earbuds alone but together with the case extends it up to 28 hours continued use.

When charging the case, you’ll have the following indicator lights to let you know its charging status: 100% bright green light, 20% flickering green light and 20% below flickering red light.

It’s very convenient if you have the realme Link app which shows you how much battery is left on the earbuds before recharging them with the case.

Conclusion

The realme Buds T100 surprised us in many ways. You get great sound quality almost at studio-level performance with good presence of high-mids and bass. Microphone gets clear calls with less disturbance from your environment with the aid of its AI ENC technology.

The design is very trendy and offers a comfortable fit. Controls on the earbuds are simple and intuitive.

As for the battery, it’s pretty decent as it could last almost half the day if you’re a heavy user but with the charging case you can extend it more or even the next day.

Not only can the realme Buds T100 performs respectably well and equipped with a good set of features. It’s an affordable TWS device that won’t shell out too much of your savings and enjoy great audio either for work or play.
