First Look: HONOR X8b (8GB+512GB) + Unboxing and Camera Samples

Following the success of the HONOR X9b 5G, HONOR Philippines is set to launch their latest addition to its X series model lineup.

The all-new HONOR X8b boasts several great enhancements compared to its predecessor, including upgrades to its camera, aesthetics, display, and internal hardware. These improvements offer consumers an affordable smartphone with an impressive array of spec-wised features.

While a full review of the phone is forthcoming, we’re excited to provide you with an exclusive first look at the new HONOR X8b.

Unboxing

As we inspect the box of the HONOR X8b, we find its packaging to be very simple, draped in an all-white color and made from a thick cardboard type material.

There’s an image of the X8b printed on the top cover and a HONOR logo that you can easily spot on the side of the box. A sticker is also placed on one side of the box with the IMEI, company info, certification marks, and a few specs about the unit printed on it.

As you open the box, the phone is the first thing you’ll see once you take out the top cover, underneath it is a compartment box that holds some of the included accessories.

Taking everything out of the box, you’ll receive the following items:

  • HONOR X8b Unit
  • Clear Protective Case
  • SIM Ejector Tool
  • USB-A to USB-C Cable
  • Charger
  • Quick Start Guide
  • Screen Protector (Pre-Applied)

Sleek Design

We received the Glamorous Green color for our HONOR X8b review unit, and it looks fantastic!

The HONOR X8b uses a metal frame and a durable plastic rear cover panel that’s overlaid with a sleek leather texture, adding a premium touch to the phone’s overall aesthetics.

The bottom edge holds a microphone, a USB-C port, and speaker grille.

The top edge shows another single microphone.

On the right side edge are the volume rockers and the power/sleep button, which includes an integrated fingerprint scanner. Pressing the power button for 1 second grants access to the Google Assistant.

The left side houses the dual SIM card slot.

AMOLED Display

The HONOR X8b has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a screen refresh rate of up to 90Hz.

What’s new about this phone, in addition to the nice display housed on the front camera, is the introduction of another cutting-edge technology the HONOR Magic Capsule, now available on this model.

Impressive Camera

The HONOR X8b has a triple camera setup with the main camera boasting an impressive 108MP camera that can capture high-quality photos.

For your selfies, the phone won’t disappoint, it gets a 50MP AI front camera with LED assistance for capturing great photos even in low-light scenarios.

Here are some photos we’ve taken so you can see the camera capabilities of the new HONOR X8b.

Large RAM and Storage

If you’re captivated by the phone’s camera, you’ll have no trouble capturing more photos and videos as the HONOR X8b has a large 512GB storage capacity. With that large internal storage capacity, you can also download more apps and files without any worries.

The 512GB internal storage is paired by an 8GB RAM, which can be expanded further by an additional 8GB using the HONOR Ram Turbo feature. You’ll get a total of 16GB RAM to ensures that apps on the phone run faster and smoother even while other programs are running in the background.

We will share with you our full review of the HONOR X8b in the coming weeks, as we are currently under embargo until its official launch on February 21 at 6:00 PM, live on HONOR’s Facebook page.https://bit.ly/HONORMagicV2Launch_PR
