The new HUAWEI MateBook series has several productivity features you can use to make work simpler, easily transfer files, seamless faster online connection and more. We’re positive that you’ll surely be using them without a second thought either for work or school.
First on the list of features supported on all of the new 2023 HUAWEI MateBook series is the company’s popular proprietary IOT technology the HUAWEI Super Device.
The HUAWEI Super Device is a software system designed to link all of its products (smartphone, laptop, tablet, Smart TV, etc.) together for a seamless back-and-forth interaction. The nice thing about this feature it’s wire-free, no more using any sort of cable. It also helps to streamline your work process much easier and faster productivity.
You have a Multi-screen collaboration that pairs any HUAWEI device to either Mirror, Extend, or Collaborate. The Mirror, as the name suggests, does a copy of your laptop screen to a connected device. Extend Mode allows you to use your tablet as a second screen for your laptop. Collaborate Mode will allow the MateBook’s mouse and keyboard to interact with the connected device, while also transferring text, documents, or images between the two.
The SuperHub is another great feature that will help reduce the trouble of moving files, text, and images, as well as sharing files across devices. Users just simply long-press on any text, image, video, or file then drag it to SuperHub’s floating window to store it as temporary files. Next, these can be dragged out and placed on the app you want to share it.
With the HUAWEI Super Device, you can do more like Multi-Device Sharing, AI Search Integration, HUAWEi Share, Pop-up Pairing, or Wireless Projection.

In terms of Wi-Fi connectivity, all three devices are equipped with HUAWEI Metaline Antenna 2.0 feature an innovative antenna structure that helps increase and improve signal or bandwidth conversion to allow users to attain a more stable and fast internet connection.
In an open, obstacle-free environment the available long-range distance connection between the router and laptop can obtain up to 270 meters on the MateBook D 14 and D16s model. Meanwhile, the MateBook D 14 can obtain wifi signals at around 200 meters. With the HUAWEI Metaline Antenna, you can have smooth website browsing, clear video conferencing, and online gaming with lower latency.
To achieve a seamless, enjoyable, and productive online video call, the HUAWEI MateBook series has the latest smart video conferencing features like an AI Camera and Personal Voice Enhancement with AI Noise Cancellation.
The new AI Camera offers several video effect features like FollowCam to keep you centered within the frame even if you’re moving around; a virtual background that you can add in case you’re doing calls remotely, and Enable Eye Contact which adjusts your gaze on a video call to appear like you’re still looking into the camera.
There’s also a Beauty mode to smooth, whiten skin or have your face reshaped to look better during online calls.
Another next-level feature on the MateBook series is the Enable Personal Voice Enhancement which filters out unwanted background noise and chatter. It is now supported on audio devices using the 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C port, or connecting your Bluetooth headphones. The feature can support apps from Zoom, WhatsApp, and Telegram. With Clean Voice, it can make your voice on calls much clearer and distinct using AI noise cancellation technology.

HUAWEI MateBook D 14 BE
The HUAWEI MateBook D 14 BE sports a stylish all-new flat design concept with a sleek metallic front cover. The surface used an anodizing and rare sandblasting process with high precision creating a smooth aluminum feel.
It has a slim form factor at 17.2mm thickness and weighs 1.39kg portable enough and is easy to carry during your everyday commute.
The screen of the MateBook D 14 BE opens up to 180 degrees when laid flat on a table can make several people view the display at the same time. This is good for collaboration or business presentations, especially for work.
The power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner for additional security.
The top bezels of the screen hold a 1080p HD camera with a privacy shutter to physically cover the lens when you’re not taking any video calls. To improve the quality of your video calls it has a dual mic setup.
The large touchpad has the right amount of size at 120mmx72mm to move things around in dragging files, editing photos or video.
For accuracy and comfort when typing, the keyboard offers a 1.5mm key travel with a pleasing bouncy press. The keyboard is spill-resistant built with a three-layer of protection that covers the critical component of the laptop to withstand up to 310ml of liquid.
The HUAWEI MateBook D 14 BE is tested against strict MIL-STD-810H:2019 standards passing 60 reliability tests and 14 minor tests as it promises a simple way to tell how tough this laptop is operating stably under various harsh environments.
Display
It boasts a bright and colorful 14-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with a 16:9 screen ratio. The laptop has an anti-glare screen to minimize light reflections or allow it to be used during bright light conditions.
Bezels around the screen measure at 9.6mm on the top, 19.4mm at the bottom, and narrower bezels from the left and right at 4.9mm.
The MateBook D 14 BE are TÜV Rheinland certified displays which can reduce blue light at the same time are flicker-free to protect and preserve our eyes.
To prevent eye fatigue, there’s also an eBook mode that turns the display gray with a warm color temperature for easier and more comfortable reading for a long period of time.
Performance
The processor equipped in the MateBook D 14 BE is a 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1215U processor with Intel UHD Graphics, 8GB memory, and 256GB SSD storage. There’s room for more expansion with Up to 40 GB memory and 4 TB SSD expansion.
With the integrated hardware on the MateBook D 14 BE, it can still handle daily tasks well for productivity uses.
The device also features dual speakers and combined with HUAWEI Histen sound enhancement technology, you can adjust the sound effects to produce a more high-quality surround sound experience.
The MateBook D 14 BE is powered by a 42Wh battery and the included 65W charger can support PD 3.0 and SCP protocols for fast charging of multiple devices.
There’s a good selection of multiple ports on the MateBook D 14 BE. On the left side, there is a USB-C port (to support data and charging), and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. Still on the left side is a full-size HDMI 1.4 connector and a 3.5mm audio jack. The right side ports hold a USB 2.0, RJ45 network, and a security slot.
HUAWEI MateBook D 14
The latest 2023 HUAWEI MateBook D 14 has a slim and sleek metallic body design with the same high precision sandblasted aluminum finish. You’ll immediately spot a HUAWEI logo placed at the middle of the top cover lid. It has only one available color variant in a classic Space Grey.
The overall finish of the laptop has a smooth feel, still very thin and lightweight, coming at 1.39kg which makes it comfortable to hold and easy to carry around. It has a thickness of up to 15.9mm.
To make the metal body and surface of the laptop more durable, it underwent a 40-step anodizing process making it resistant to wear, dirt, and corrosion.
At the top right corner just above the keyboard, you have a two-in-one power button that also doubles as a touch fingerprint sensor to power the device and log you in securely.
The trackpad of the MateBook D 14 still has a large area that is smooth, responsive, and accurate.
Suitable for everyday tasks the keyboard delivers comfortable and effortless accurate typing with high key travel optimized at a 1.5mm distance.
Aside from its nice aesthetics, the MateBook D 14 was subjected to go through some rigorous quality testing to be sure you’re getting a strong and durable laptop equipped to handle whatever demanding task carry out on it.
Display
The Huawei MateBook D 14 features a 14-inch display with Full HD resolution at 1920×1200 pixels. They changed the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 16:10 to increase the height of the display by 10%.
The ultra-narrow bezels of the brand-new laptop are just 3.5mm thick on all three sides except for the bottom bezels which are a bit thick. It has a high 90 percent screen-to-body ratio to maximize the view of the screen.
The brightness of the display offers 300 nits and a good contrast of 1200:1.
It features an anti-glare display to minimize reflections when used under direct sunlight.

Performance
Under the hood, the Huawei MateBook D 14 has a high-end 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1360P processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD storage.
HUAWEI has placed a more powerful GPU with an integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics card and a 56Wh (rated capacity) large battery. HUAWEI claims that the battery will allow users to watch 1080p video playback for up to 13 hours; web browsing for 8 hours; handle heavy office tasks for 6 hours; and a screen-on standby for up to 13 hours.
There are multiple ports available with the left side having a USB-C port (support USB 3.2 Gen1, DP 1.4 Charging), USB 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 1.4, and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the right is a dedicated USB-A 2.0 port.
To ensure optimal performance, it has a two-mode option (25W balance mode and 30W performance mode) that can cater to different usage scenarios. Choose the balance mode if you need to perform regular office tasks. If you need to accelerate performance using professional software or heavy-duty office work you can utilize the Performance Mode.
HUAWEI MateBook 16s
Looking at the Huawei MateBook 16s from any angle looks definitely premium. It sports a CNC edge-cutting design and precision sandblasted metallic body finish in a nice Space Grey color.
It has a slightly bigger form factor that weighs 1.99kg but is still slim at 17.8mm portable enough to bring along at school or work.
The screen has narrow bezels with the top measuring 7.3mm, and 5.2mm for the left/right bezels except for the bottom chin which is slightly raised.
The viewing area has a 90% screen-to-body ratio which is now increased to 8% compared to a normal 16-inch display for a more pleasurable view.
The keyboard offers 1.5mm of key travel that’s comfortable and quiet in use whenever you type on it. It has a backlight that can be adjusted selectable either to turn it OFF, brightness at 50% or at 100% max.
The touchpad is more precise, smooth, and roomy having a large size of 140 x 90mm.
The power button of the notebook also serves as the fingerprint reader for added security.
The front-facing speakers have a fine 3168-hole speaker grille created using a diamond-cut process.
On the front edge are dual microphones that can pick up sounds within 5 meters combined with an AI noise cancellation algorithm that can reduce echoes and filter out environmental noise for a well-defined voice when you have audio or video calls.
The display offer a touch screen capability with AF coating to prevent fingerprint smudges, oil and dust. Having your laptop with a touch screen feature can be an advantage, it can assist users for easy navigation and students who loves to draw or take notes.
The surface hardness of the glass display gets a 7H rating able to prevent scratches and bumps.
Available ports on the MateBook 16s are two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB-C port, Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm earphone/microphone jack.
However, you may have to bring your memory card reader as there’s no SD card slot to transfer your photos or videos from your camera.
Display
For the display, the MateBook 16s offers a large 16-inch screen panel delivering 10-point multi-touch functionality and 2.5K resolution with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The 3:2 aspect ratio is spot-on that’s good for opening windows side by side or applications for better work productivity.
The screen panel offers a maximum brightness of 400 nits and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. Expect to see more details displayed on the screen with a pixel density of 189 PPI.
We loved how vibrant the colors displayed on the MateBook 16s, you’re getting a 10-bit color depth covering 1.07 billion colors for smooth gradations. It has a 100% sRGB color gamut with a DeltaE of less than one with a color profile using a 3D LUT hardware color calibration to bring out accurate and consistent colors.
With a bright, colorful, and punchy display, the MateBook 16s is a suitable laptop for creative use such as photography, layouts, and video editing.
You have an eBook mode option that will emit a paperlike display effect to prevent eye fatigue or discomfort if you read for a long period of time on the laptop.
Performance
The MateBook 16s is powered by an all-new 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900H H-Series processor, 16GB memory, massive 1TB SSD storage, and packs a large-capacity 84Wh battery. HUAWEI claims that a full charge on the laptop can give users 13.5 hours of 1080p video playback.
Front-facing dual speakers are located on each side of the keyboard, facing the user, and are designed to deliver clear and crisp sound quality. Watching movies, listening to music, or playing games will offer users a more immersive audio experience.
The MateBook 16s includes modern amenities like an Intel EVO, Iris Xe graphics, Thunderbolt 4 that can connect up to two 4K monitors, and Wi-Fi 6E with speeds up to 2.4Gbps. The laptop is appropriate for designers or content creators.
Worry less when you use the laptop to its full potential as it can handle the amount of heat inside. Thanks to its smart heat dissipation system that utilizes a gaming-grade shark fin dual fan design. Plus, a cooling system is added with 2mm thick heat pipes, 0.1mm ultra-thin sheet, and 126 tablets of high-density heat sink.
