Tablets have become a handy tool that caters to a variety of needs of every user whether for work, entertainment, creativity, and education.

There are a lot of flagship tablets out in the market, however, some consumers are still looking for budget-friendly tablets with a good amount of features that make them a compelling choice for many consumers.

Just recently, DOOGEE Philippines launched its latest T Series entertainment tablets that are perfect for students or young professionals who are looking for a spec-wised and affordable tablet. Unveiled are three new models: a 10-inch display with the DOOGEE T10S and DOOGEE T10 then a top-tier variant the DOOGEE T30 Pro an 11-inch tablet with a 2.5K display feature.

For this article, we will have a first look at the new DOOGEE T10S. It’s a base model of the T series with a good selling price point of PHP8,499.

Unboxing

The packaging box of the DOOGEE T10S is very simple, it’s clad in an all-white colored box using a thick cardboard-type material.

Other elements printed on the box are an image of the T10S on the top cover, DOOGEE logos, certification marks, IMEI, and other product info.

Opening the box, there’s a foam board that covers the tablet for added protection. Underneath the tablet holds the other included accessories you’ll be getting.

Taking everything out of the box you’ll get the following contents:

  • DOOGEE T10S Unit
  • USB-A to USB-C Cable
  • Power Adapter
  • User Manual
  • Warranty Card
  • SIM Ejector Tool

Design

By far the nice thing about the DOOGEE T10S is how well it’s built. I would have assumed and compared it to a mid-range tablet and then been surprised by its selling price.

The DOOGEE T10S comes with three available color variants in Green, Blue, and our review unit in a classic professional-looking Space Gray color.

The T10S has a slender body with a thickness of 8.4mm and weighs around 563 grams.

Despite being a budget-friendly tablet, the general appearance of the DOOGEE T10S looks premium having an aluminum frame and fits comfortably in the hand.

At the back, you have a clean and flat design for its rear cover panel with a nice interesting texture for that extra appeal.

Located at the top right corner is a camera and LED flash that is housed in a square-type camera module with a minimal bump that rises from the body. A DOOGEE logo is also found at the center.

For its ports and buttons, there is the power/sleep button, volume rockers, microphone, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack found on the top edge.

The SIM Card tray is on the left.

The right edge has a bottom-firing speaker.

The bottom edge is clean.

At the front of the device, the bezels on all four sides of the display are even and thick. Surely, they will be noticeable but for me, it did not distract or affect my viewing experience.

The front-facing camera has a tiny punch-hole design placed at the center of the bezels.

Everything on the DOOGEE T10S is built nicely and all of its parts are superbly put together making the tablet durable.

Display

The DOOGEE T10S packs in a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS panel display with resolutions at 1920×1200 pixels and a screen refresh rate of 60Hz.

A peak brightness of 260 nits is pretty decent for indoor use but slightly struggles when you use the tablet outdoors during direct sunlight.

The T10S has a screen-to-body ratio of 84 percent and a 16:10 aspect ratio which is a natural fit for watching videos on YouTube or binge-watch your favorite episodes on Netflix and other streaming apps with Widevine L1 support for a clear 1080p quality.

It gets a TÜV SÜD blue light certification for eye care protection and also preventing eye fatigue.

Hardware

The DOOGEE T10S is powered by a Unisoc T606 octa-core processor with maximum clock speeds of 1.6GHz and Mali-G57 for its GPU.

The Unisoc T606 is built with 2x ARM Cortex-A75 1.6GHz plus 6x ARM Cortex-A55 1.6GHz.

You get 128GB UFS 2.1 for the internal storage that’s expandable up to 1TB if you need more extra space.

It has a total of 11GB RAM with the onboard RAM at 6GB LPDDR4X and extended RAM of up to 5GB.

So far, the Unisoc T606 chipset was able to decently perform what I needed to do on the tablet.

It is equipped with a large 6600mAh battery using a max charging current of 5V/2A. It took us around 3 hours 18 minutes to fully charge the T10S.

For biometrics, you can set a face unlock on the tablet and the usual screen lock using either swipe, pattern, PIN or password for an added extra layer of security.

Camera

On the camera department, the rear camera offers a modest 8MP lens while a 5MP front-facing camera for your selfies. It is good for basic shooting and video calls.

Shooting modes available on the camera app are Panorama, Pro, Capture, Video, Slow Motion, Time Lapse, Audio Note, QR Code, and Night mode.

The T10S can also record videos in higher HD resolution at 1080p with a frame rate of 30fps. There are also two more available resolutions at 720p and 480p at 30fps.

Here are some sample photos we took using the DOOGEE T10S.

Software and Connectivity

The DOOGEE T10S comes out of the box with Android 13.

It has less bloatware with no other pre-installed apps except for the WPS Office. It has some of the Google app services you usually need like Google Drive, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, and more.

For connectivity, the device has support for Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, FM Radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

You can opt to put two 4G nano SIM cards on the SIM card tray or you may add extra storage using a microSD.

With support for a SIM card on the T10S, you will be able to browse the internet, check your e-mail, or update your social media even when you have no access to wi-fi.

Conclusion

In our opinion, the DOOGEE T10S is intentionally designed for media streaming, reading e-books, browsing the web, and updating your social media, no question about it.

The design looks very appealing and it’s quite durable thanks to the aluminum body that was used on the T10S. It feels super solid when you hold it in your hands.

Looking at the display, it is sharp and the colors are good with decent viewing angles. With Widevine L1 support it allows you to watch your favorite streaming services in high quality.

Under the hood, the built-in Unisoc T606 chipset is capable of performing the necessary tasks you can throw on the T10S. It is nicely paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage that’s expandable up to 1TB via microSD.

However, as for gaming the tablet can play popular games such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty, Mobile Legends Bang Bang, and other casual games like Subway Surfer.

As for the battery life, we experience that the battery drains a bit quicker after continuous use especially when we play games and watch videos. We would advise you to always bring along a power bank or a charger with you.

With a good price tag of PHP8,499, the DOOGEE T10S is a good tablet to have.
