Cinemapúa shorts films featured in yfilms.ph online filmfest

Some of Cinemapúa’s finest short films such as “Last 234!”, “Ophelia”, “Nik-Nik,” and “Zulu” can be viewed free online during yfilms.ph inaugural week-long film festival Y2M (Yes2Movies).

Starting today, February 22, movie fans can stream Cinemapúa student short films as well as other critically-acclaimed commercial films such as “Heneral Luna,” “I’m Drunk, I Love You,” and “Women of The Weeping River,” by TBA Studios.

“Zulu” tackles the hardships of life on a battlefield, “Last 234!” shows the passion and hardships of student cheerleader-athletes, “Ophelia” raises the issue of mental health, and “Nik-Nik” touches on the life of a young pupil.

The inclusion of the Cinemapúa shorts in the film festival is a testament to the colorful, provocative and insightful storytelling of today’s young student filmmakers.

A digital platform of the Yuchengco Museum, yfilms.ph seeks to make quality local movies from renowned directors and promising student filmmakers more accessible to audiences. The films can be streamed free-of-charge from anywhere in the world, 24/7, until February 28, 2022.

After the seven-day Y2M filmfest, yfilms.ph will reopen itself officially in April 2022, showcasing an even wider range of genres and bigger archive of Filipino films.

Cinemapúa is an annual student short film festival organized by Mapúa University’s School of Media Studies. Last year’s 19th film festival drew over 100 entries from which 25 finalists were chosen.
