Nokia C2: Unboxing and First Impressions

This year HMD Global recently launched several Nokia smartphones and feature phones for fans who are looking to enjoy a Nokia device again. One of which is the Nokia C2, the company’s latest affordable 4G smartphone which is now available in the Philippines. The suggested retail price is at PHP3,790 only that offers several nice nifty features, so will do an unboxing and quick rundown of its features.

Inside the box we have the Nokia C2, Micro USB Charging Cable, Charger, Quick Start Guide, TPU Jelly Case and Earphones.

On the right side, we have the volume rocker and power/lock button while on the other side it has a google assistant button. Located on the top we have a 3.5mm audio jack and found at the bottom supports a micro USB port and microphone.

At the back we got the 5MP rear camera with flash, loudspeaker and a nice embossed Nokia logo. We got for this review the Cyan color variant with a nice matte finish that helps minimize fingerprints and it’s a removable cover as well.

When the back cover is removed, you can see where the placement of the battery fits in plus the slots for the dual SIM card and the expandable MicroSD.

In the front you get a nice 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display enclosed in a toughened glass. A 5MP front camera with flash is ready to take those selfies and in the middle you have the earpiece.

Powering the device is a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with a 1GB RAM and 16GB storage that’s expandable up to 64GB with the MicroSD card slot. Network speed is accessible in 4G with an available active Dual Nano SIM.

For the software, it’s using a pure Android 9 Pie Go Edition which is very simple with no added bloatware apps whatsoever. Basically, all of the Google apps is present here in the system, it has the Google Go, Chrome, Maps, Gmail, Playstore, and Google Assistant. There’s a YouTube Go already pre-installed as it only needs your Google account to activate it. Social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. are not installed, you still have to download it.

Plus, another advantage of having a pure android phone is you get the latest software updates as well as security patches that promises to deliver them monthly to its users.

The Nokia C2 has a 2,800mAh battery with a standby time than can last up to 19 days; talk time up to 19 hours; audio playback giving you 21 hours of music and videos that can last up to 8 hours watching your favorite movies or series.
