Rotary District 3830 to hold ‘Service Tour de Force’ District Conference from March 23-25, 2023

Rotary District 3830 is all set to hold its District Conference (DISCON) for this year from March 23 to March 25.

A much-awaited annual gathering of Rotarians from across the Rotary Clubs of District 3830,  the DISCON will feature a number of activities for fellowship, vision-setting, recognition, and entertainment.

District 3830 Governor Mildred Vitangcol said this year’s event is the first full in-person DISCON of the district after its hiatus following the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.

“This DISCON that Rotary District 3830 has lovingly put together aims to amplify the Service goals of the Rotary through a grand yearly fellowship where not only Rotarians are invited to experience, but also the public,” said Gov. Vitangcol.

“It’s our first fully in-person District Conference in four years so expect it to be packed with a lot of activities not only for Rotarians and Rotaractors to enjoy but also the public in general,” she said.

Highlights of the first day of the District Conference include a Benefit Concert, a Rotaract Pre-Conference cosplay-themed socials, and a Welcome Dinner for the Rotary International (RI) President’s Representative, Past RI Vice President Anne L. Matthews, to be attended by Past RI President Gary Huang and select District delegates.

The district conference will also feature on its second day a District Leadership Seminar, Grand Opening of House of Friendship and Rotary Showcase, and Plenary Sessions with Guest Speaker, Northern Samar 1st District Rep. Paul Daza.

Plenary Sessions will continue on the third and last day of the conference with panelists including Donald Lim of Enderun Colleges; Karlo Eugene Josef M. Castro of Palawan Pawnshop Group; Cynthia R. Mamon, Ph.D., ICAE of Enchanted Kingdom; Dr. Tony Leachon, and Lourdes Fabia. This will be followed by a Business Session where there will be a Presentation of Future District Governors.

The last day of the conference will also include Breakfast Fellowship with RIPR Past Rotary International Vice President Anne L. Matthews and Marvelously Imaginative Presidents as well as President-Elects.

The three-day conference will then be capped by the much-awaited Governor’s Ball.

Notably, the DISCON 2023 Benefit Concert will feature artists Angeline Quinto, SAB, and Paolo Sandejas. Free for all DISCON registrants and with tickets being sold to the public at Php500 each, the concert will have for its opening act a Freestyle Dance Battle among DISCON participants and other concert ticket holders.
