The Philippines ranks as having 5th fastest internet in Southeast Asia based on the latest Speedtest® Global Index report from internet analysis firm Ookla.
“The Philippines has been steadily climbing in the rankings on the Speedtest GlobalIndex,” said Sylwia Kechiche, principal analyst at Ookla. “This is on account of the Philippine operators’ investments to modernize and upgrade their copper infrastructure and the activemigration of customers to fiber, as well as connecting many first-time users.”

Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index is a ranking based on the median download speed that users experience with their internet connections, which more accurately reflects the speeds they are likely to get.

These figures were aggregated from millions of user-initiated speed tests on Ookla’s platform.
