New Year Ride, New Year Vibes: Honda’s Big Bike Breakfast Ride opens 2023 with a trip to Clark

Serving as the embodiment of Honda Philippines, Inc.’s (HPI) philosophy to share the joy of mobility, Honda’s Big Bike Breakfast Ride rings in the new year with its exciting first trip of 2023.

The group, composed of proud owners of acclaimed big bikes from Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), the No.1 motorcycle manufacturer in the country, took off on a 129-km journey up north on January 28. The trip kicked off at the usual starting point at Honda Safety Driving Center in Sucat, Parañaque, and ended at Here Café in Clark, Pampanga.

“We conduct this kind of activity every month because we value the enjoyment of motorcycle riding by giving new experiences to our riders,” says Raymund Cristobal HPI’s National Sales Manager. “This is also why we continue to develop world-class technology engines for our valued customers.”

The periodic ride takes place on weekend mornings, where Honda Big Bike owners get to enjoy their shared passion for going on long rides with their motorcycles. Awaiting the participants at the destination is a fun social event where riders have breakfast together, bond over games, and receive refreshers on road safety and responsible motorcycle riding practices.

The latest edition of the touring activity figures as the 4th Big Bike Ride since the pandemic began. Among the participants in the Clark trip were media personalities. Aris Ilagan with his CRF1100 Africa Twin and Moto Polerina, also known as Janet Tan, rode in CB500F. Meanwhile, Bernadette Reyes took part in Rebel 500, as Michael Bucu brought his own  X-ADV 750.

All four raved about the value of safety riding and road courtesy and the many strong qualities of Honda Big Bikes. This includes nimble handling, a responsive and powerful engine, and overall comfort. Here, we break down what each big bike offers.

The New CRF1100 Africa Twin

Tech-packed, muscular, and built for adventure, the CRF1100L is well-loved by Ilagan for its great deal of engineering for its Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). This feature allows gear selection in any four modes, essentially a base map plus different sports maps. Africa Twin’s long-stroke suspension and body layout provide ample ground clearance in consideration of the requirements of off-road excursions.

The All-New CB500F

Moto Polerina lauded the sheer power of The All-New CB500F. Positioned as the all-around athlete, the 471cc-ride makes for a great choice as one’s first big bike with its lightweight body, versatile horsepower, rider-friendly powerband, and narrow profile.

The New Rebel 500

For those who value the fine balance between power, precision, and style like Reyes, the Rebel 500 stands out with its offerings. Its timeless cruiser styling commands attention, along with a lean 471cc parallel twin-cylinder engine and user-friendly powerband. It’s a cruiser that has the looks, style, and attitude that expresses authenticity and individuality.

The New X-ADV 750

Finally, Bucu is all praise for The New X-ADV 750 that takes him smoothly from city driving to off-road explorations with great convenience. Apart from its strong tubular-steel chassis with 745cc twin-cylinder engine and Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), this model is equipped with a 5-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Full-LCD Digital Meter Panel that paves the way for the Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS) which links the rider to their smartphone while on the move.

In closing the Clark event of Honda’s Big Bike Breakfast Ride, Cristobal reminded everyone of HPI’s goals.

“We want you to experience the main essence of the joy of having your Honda,” he said. “Feel the smooth performance of our large-engine bikes from ‘easy-to-ride’  to ‘fun-to-ride’ experience.”
