Last March 11, We were given a special sneak preview of Samsung’s latest Galaxy A-series mid-range smartphones the A72, A52 and a 5G-ready A52 5G model. The latest Galaxy A-series also held a global launch entitled Samsung Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event which saw the device’s new cutting-edge features.
So let’s dive in and take a close look of the new Samsung Galaxy A-series.
The Galaxy A52 and A72 features a Super AMOLED Full HD+ display, 800 nits of peak brightness, and 90Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A52 5G has a higher refresh rate of 120Hz for a less blur and better image quality. To help with eye fatigue on your new Galaxy phone, the new models offers Eye Comfort Shield and certified by SGS, the world’s leading certification company.
The overall design of both Galaxy A-series models are identical on the back featuring a quad camera setup in a square layout and an Infinity-O Display. It is IP67 certified that’s ready to resist dust and water up to 10 meters of depth for only 30 minutes.
The camera specs on both in the A-series is equipped with a 64MP main camera with an available 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 5MP depth sensor for portrait shots. An array of shooting modes are offered as well in the camera app such as Single Take, Fun mode Macro mode, Night mode, Food mode, Panorama, Pro mode, AR Doodle, Portrait, Pro Video, Super Slow-Mo, Slow Motion and Hyperlapse.
For video you can shoot 4K or 1080p quality now equipped with optical image stabilization feature. For the Galaxy A72 Samsung added a telephoto, 3X hybrid optical zoom and a 30x space zoom to capture more from subjects farther away. Instantly take your 4K videos into 8MP high-resolution images with 4K Video Snap. Scene Optimizer that uses AI to shoot with optimal settings for 30 categories of images and backgrounds such as food, landscapes, and pets.
For those selfie shots you have a 32MP front facing camera capable of note-worthy social media shots.

For performance, both devices have a 265GB of internal storage plus expandable up to 1TB. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, 8GB memory and Samsung’s latest user interface the One UI 3.1 based on Android 11.
To experience a new level of audio experience both devices comes with Dolby Atmos sound technology and now offers a 43% increase on volume.
For power, the Galaxy A52 and A52 5G is equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery while the Galaxy A72 has a 5,000 mAh battery with both comes with Samsung Adaptive Power Saving a battery-saving AI technology that manage your apps and the device’s battery life.
The Galaxy A-series has the same physical overlays of the button and ports. On thee right side you have the volume rockers and power/sleep button. On the top you have the SIM card tray and the microphones while located at the bottom are the charging port, 3.5mm headphone port, speaker grille, and microphone.
Both models also offers the following features:
- Music Share – It allows you to easily share your Bluetooth speaker or headset that is already connected to your device with others.
- Google Duo – Video calling app that brings you face-to-face with the people you love.
- Samsung Knox – A pre-installed mobile security platform that provides real-time protection of your data.
- Galaxy Ecosystem – Get easy access on its other Samsung Galaxy devices and products.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy A-series models will have an assortment of awesome color options starting with the Galaxy A72 in violet, white, blue and black. While the Galaxy A52 are available in white, blue and black colors. For the Galaxy A52 5G it will be offered in black color only.
The new Galaxy A Series will be available in Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White. The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G and A72 will be available at PhP 23,990 SRP, while the Samsung Galaxy A52 will be available at Php 18,990 SRP. Beginning March 18 until April 4, any Galaxy A52 5G purchased on Samsung.com will come with a Free Galaxy Buds+ worth Php 5,990.
