Samsung launches its latest A series line-up for 2023 with the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G. The new Galaxy A series models offers a brighter display, more advanced cameras, battery life and an upgraded sleek and stylish design.
We had some early hands-on time with the new Galaxy mid-range phones during our NDA session last March 13 at The Assembly Hall in Makati City. Present during the event are key executives from Samsung Philippines with Mr. Jun Guevara, Head of Product Marketing – Mobile Division; Mr. Mark Que, Product Marketing Manager, Galaxy A Series, and Ms. Ria Castillo, Galaxy A Series Category Head, Product Marketing.
So, let’s dive in with the new Galaxy A series as we share with you some of the new features and look of these two innovative smartphones designed for an awesome mobile experience.
Design and Build Quality
First, the available colorways for each A series models will be available in three awesome colors. The A54 5G will come in Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite, and the Awesome Violet as an exclusive online offer.
For the Galaxy A34 5G will have two color options ready upon pre-order in Awesome Violet and Awesome Graphite. The Awesome Lime color variant will be coming soon as an exclusive online offer.
Samsung Galaxy A34 5G
The new Galaxy A54 5G and A34 5G has a sleek and premium design having some few of the notable Galaxy design being used for this model.
One key element to spot the difference of each model is its front camera design. The A54 5G has a small punch hole notch or Infinity-O while the A34 5G will get the Infinity-U or a dew drop notch design.
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G
The camera housing of the A54 5G and A34 5G gets the same minimalist floating camera design of the S23 series with a metallic finish.
The Galaxy A54 5G has an elegant glossy glass back panel.
You get a “Glasstic” type back cover panel on the Galaxy A34 5G. It’s somehow a mixed of glass and plastic material in which Samsung calls it the Prism Pattern back panel.
Available ports and buttons are same on both devices. At the right edge you’ll find the volume rockers, power button while the left side has nothing on it.
The USB-C port, speaker grille, and microphone at the bottom while the SIM card tray and another microphone is found on the top.
Display
Both devices sport an immersive and vibrant Super AMOLED displays. It measures 6.4-inch on the Galaxy A54 5G and 6.6-inch on the Galaxy A34 5G.
Both screen of the phones has the enhanced Vision Booster feature. It dynamically adjusts the color tones to improve the visuals on the screen under direct sunlight for outstanding outdoor visibility.
The A45 5G and A34 5G supports up to 120Hz refresh rate for a smoother scrolling experience.

Camera
The new Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G can deliver stunning images with clear quality even in bright conditions, making use of Samsung Galaxy’s leading Nightography and AI capabilities.
Both devices sports a triple camera setup, 5MP macro camera and improved optical image stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization (VDIS). For low light conditions, it has a Night mode to help users capture more detail by broadening the camera’s pixel size.
For the A54 5G, its rear camera comprises of a 50MP main camera, 12MP Ultra-wide and 32MP for your selfies. As for the A34 5G, it gets a 48MP main camera and 8MP Ultra-wide with a 13MP for the front camera.
Users can also now remove unwanted shadows and reflections for the first time in Galaxy A series, thanks to the enhanced editing tools like the Object Eraser. It can also enhance a photo much better or an animated gif with GIF Master.
Performance
Under the hood, the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G has two storage variants in 128GB or 256GB with expandable storage up to 1TB, and an 8GB RAM.
For its processors, the Galaxy A54 5G is powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset and the Galaxy A34 5G uses a Dimensity 1080 chipset.
Both Galaxy A series devices is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with up to 25W fast charging support. Samsung claims that in a single charge you can have video playback up to 21 hours. Charging both devices after 30 minutes will have an increase battery up to 50 percent or 52 percent and 82 minutes from 0 to 100 percent.
All devices has nice sound quality having stereo speakers.
Software and Security
Both devices runs on Samsung’s latest One UI 5.1 software with a promise of 5-year security upgrade and 4-years OS updates.
For advanced security, It has the Samsung Knox which data is kept under lock and key with defense-grade mobile security. The Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G give users access to the Security and Privacy Dashboard, which makes it easy to see how apps are tracking data and enables simple ways to stop unwanted data collection. When users want to share important files that contain sensitive or personal information with the ultimate level of privacy and control, there’s Private Share. This enables users to share files only to designated recipients within time limits and with screenshots disabled.
The Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G are also compatible with the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem to provide seamless connectivity between devices. Users can get 100GB of cloud storage and easily back up photos to OneDrive with a six month trial of Microsoft 365 Basic , accessible on the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G.
Price and Availability
The new Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is priced at Php24,990 (128GB) and Php26,990 (256GB). Meanwhile, the Galaxy A34 5G will retail at Php19,990 (128GB) and Php21,990 (256GB).
