As part of ACE Hardware’s commitment to help every Filipino build and maintain their homes with affordable and sustainable options, ACE Hardware teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for the home improvement of its community in Pasig through eco-friendly and sustainable products.
The partnership with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that aims to provide homes for marginalized Filipinos, is part of ACE Hardware’s goal to give back and help communities.
“ACE Hardware is the helpful place. We are excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity to support their mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. This employee volunteer activity in Pasig is just the start. We look forward to helping other communities with our ACE volunteers and ACE products.” ACE Hardware Senior Vice President and Business Unit Head Bernard Ong said.
Using ACE’s non-toxic and odorless paints and painting supplies, ACE Hardware team led by Tes Portilio (Vice President – HR), Peachy Tiu (Assitant Vice President [AVP] – Marketing), Mr. Alain Tijing (AVP – Marketing), Tere Molina (AVP – Training), Michelle Ching-Gacias (AVP – SCO), Myla Cortez (Senior Manager – Counter), Mon Albert (AVP – Consultant) and other employee volunteers from Head Office and branches spent their day working with the community’s homeowners for the home improvement of two, four-storey structures that serve as a home for at least 120 families in Pasig 1.
ACE Hardware also donated gardening supplies like pots, organic plant medium, seeds, gardening tools to the community’s urban garden.
The team also spent time with the community with a series of fun games and got to know the community members during the home improvement process. ACE Hardware Vice President for HR Tes Portillo shared that she had a heartwarming and humbling experience. “More than just an event, it was an experience that truly had an impact on us and hopefully to the community as well. It was a blessing to be a blessing.”
Pasig 1 Community Homeowners also enjoyed the experience, noting that they appreciate the time and effort spent by the ACE Hardware team to create better homes for the community.
