Medical diagnostics, imaging and laboratory testing are a huge part of healthcare. From the very basic x-rays, urinalysis and blood tests that we take as part of annual physical checkups, to more specialized tests and scans, many of us have undergone most of these in our lifetime, and the results always let us and our doctor know the state of our health.
New World Diagnostics, Inc. (NWDI) was founded in 1996 by a group of medical doctors with a desire and commitment to helping the Filipino community achieve better health and become the most trusted medical diagnostic center in the Philippines. Because of the company’s expertise in the field and commitment to excellence, they have been given certifications and accreditations by numerous government and private institutions, such as the Department of Health.
NWDI offers basic testing packages, such as the standard annual physical examination (APE) and pre-employment evaluation. These examinations make use of the Complete Blood Count (CBC), urinalysis, and fecalysis tests, as well the basic chest x-ray. Other advanced testing and imaging services include drug testing, genetic testing, electrocardiogram (ECG) and CT scans.
Today, their services are even more relevant in meeting the diagnostic needs of Filipinos because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, NWDI is one of the fastest and most comprehensive COVID-19 testing centers in the country. They provide RT-PCR tests, Rapid Antigen tests, and Anti-SARS-CoV 2 Qualitative and Quantitative Antibody tests and can give the results in at least 24 hours. They are also an accredited COVID-19 testing center of the Chinese embassy for all China-bound individuals.
Apart from offering affordable COVID-19 testing aside from their usual testing packages and primary care consultations, NWDI responded to the pandemic by also offering home service laboratory testing, adapting to the needs of customers and patients during the pandemic by bringing their much-needed laboratory tests to the safety of their home.
After 25 years of service, NWDI has grown into an organization with several established branches across the country and over 300 employees. Still, NWDI continues to expand, with plans to open more branches throughout Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
“New World Diagnostics is not just committed to providing excellent and quality diagnostic services,” Ms. Maria Estella Diokno, Vice President and COO of the company said. “We are also committed to continuing our long and valued relationship with Filipinos and being their partner in building a healthier nation.”
