Wacom Philippines unveils its latest touch sensitive graphic tablets

Brand leader in professional creative products Wacom Philippines held its first official unveiling of their latest product line-up to cater the creative professionals last July 13, 2017 at Draft Gastropub Manila, Greenbelt 2, Makati City.

For those who are not familiar with the product, Wacom is a well-known brand for producing creative tools being used by the creative professional such as photographers, animators, illustrators, graphic designers, architects and students as well. Wacom also leads 85% Global Market Share in the Creative Pen Tablet category.

They offer products which are touch sensitive graphic tablets such as their Creative Pen Tablets and Creative Digital Pen Displays used into the computer or laptop which is more natural, intuitive, easy to edit or touching up photos and draw rather than the mouse that can be very time consuming.

This year’s line-up includes the Bamboo, Intuos, Intuos Pro and Cintiq that promises a new level of performance and features.

Wacom Philippines invited Filipino-American animation artist, Armand Serrano as their special guest to demonstrate and share his experience about Wacom. Serrano is known for his works at Walt Disney Animation Studio and Sony Pictures Animation. Serrano has been in the animation industry for more than 2 decades and currently serving as Visual Development artist for Walt Disney Animation Studio in Burbank, California. During his nine years stay at Sony, Armand completed a total of fifteen projects including Surf’s Up, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, Arthur Christmas, Hotel Transylvania and his latest credits with Disney the award-winning Big Hero 6 and Zootopia.

A confessed long-time Wacom user for almost 17 years he started with Wacom’s Graphire and had the first generation of Cintiq which was very durable. In his studio, Serrano uses at work a Cintiq Pro and always carry along with him a Cintiq Companion 2, while his kids use the Bamboo. 

Serrano admitted that, “Wacom has been the staple in the creative industry especially in the animation industry there’s no other brand that I can think of that we can use in the animation and professional industry.”

New partnership was officially announced during the launch between Wacom Philippines and Philippine Society of IT Educators (PSITE). The Philippine Society of IT Educators serves as a venue for the optimization and development of  faculty members, curricula, projects, research, resources, linkages, and assistance in policy formulation related to IT education. Present during the signing are Dr. Neil Balba, President, Philippine Society of IT Educators; Mr. KS Wong, Wacom Senior Director for Marketing Asia Pacific and Dr. Rolando Lansingan, VP External, Philippine Society of IT Educators.
