Amid the on-going pandemic last year vivo still remains a top smartphone brand as the company remained aggressive on digital innovations to emerge with consistent sales growth last 2020. The company got another huge success last year when the vivo Y11 became one of their best selling smartphone.
This year vivo Philippines sent us its latest midrange smartphone under the Y series model the vivo Y31. As its official launch date is coming on next month, we will be doing an initial first impression with some of its notable features as we still have an embargo with the device. But once it is lifted we will post the full review and specifications.
So, let’s have a quick look of the vivo Y31.
UNBOXING
First thing you’ll notice on the packaging of the vivo Y31 it’s much more simple and clean. It has blue and white colors for the background design with easily seen vivo logo and the model name printed on it. At the back you’ll see some of its notable features and the NTC/IMEI sticker. There’s no image of the vivo Y31 printed on the packaging.

DESIGN
The display is very attractive with a nice colors and the text are so sharp as well as the icons of the apps. It got good viewing angles plus the device is bright even under direct sunlight, everything is readable there’s no wash out in the display.
The overall design of the Y31 looks very premium as we got the Black Racing color with a shiny metal gradient finish and the edges of the phone are rounded. The bezels are slim and on the top you can see its front facing camera having a waterdrop notch design.
On the right side you have the volume controls and the power/wake button which also holds the fingerprint scanner. The SIM/MicroSD card tray and microphone can be found on the top while the USB Type-C port, 3.5mm port, loudspeaker and microphone at the bottom.
PROCESSOR
The vivo Y31 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 series but we are not yet allowed to show full details about the processor and its performance due to the embargo. But rest assured we will update you on our full review. But what we know about the new processor from Qualcomm it’s designed for performance, efficiency and versatility that offers any user a better mobile experience.
BATTERY
The vivo Y31 has a large 5,000 mAh battery capable to handle all your everyday tasks for the whole day. Good thing they also included an 18-watt fast charger to juice up this massive battery using a USB Type-C port.
CAMERA
The Y31 has a built-in 48MP AI camera housed in a rectangular shaped design with an available triple lens and LED flash. The camera housing design looks similar to the vivo X50 series that was launched last August 2020.

My initial impression with the vivo Y31 is that the device offers a high-resolution rear cameras with nice colors and sharp details. We like that this mid-range phone also has a large beautiful display, massive battery and stylish design that will definitely help them attract buyer’s attention.
