After the success of the vivo Y01, vivo is set to launch its latest entry-level smartphone with the vivo Y02s.
The improved vivo Y02s exudes a slim yet powerful device that offers two stylish colors, elegant design, large HD+ display and now equipped with a USB-C charging port. With the said features the vivo Y02s will definitely have a very good price point.
The vivo Y02s offers two stylish colorways in Flourite Black that gives off a classy shine for an elegant and timeless color while our review unit in a nice Vibrant Blue when shifted sideways radiates a pattern of dancing waves and different hues of color from blue to green.
Unboxing
The packaging box of the vivo Y02s gets a very simple design in an all-white color and made of a thick cardboard material in a smooth matte finish. On the front you’ll see the vivo logo that gets a holographic rainbow lamination finish while the model name has a debossed metallic bronze foil effect.
Both sides has a vivo logo then a Soy Ink seal label found on the right which means that the printed ink used gets a reduction ink coverage by 85% which is better for the environment.
At the back you can spot the USP’s of the vivo Y02s, specs, IMEI, company information and compliance certifications.

Quick Rundown
The first thing we noticed on the vivo Y02s is the overall eye-catching aesthetics of the device.
The rear cover is made of durable plastic material with a glass-like texture effect making it premium. The back panel is able to withstand minor scratches and less prone for fingerprint smudges.
vivo also claims that the vivo Y02s had to undergo some rigorous testing to meet various requirements for its users for a solid build quality. Testing that was done are 70,000 presses on the volume button, 150,000 presses on the power button, 10,000 cycles of plugging/ unplugging on the USB port and 6,500 cycles of plugging/unplugging on the headset port.
In front you have a large 6.51-inch HD+ LCD display with a tiny Halo notch located at the top center which houses the front facing camera.
For capturing photos, the vivo Y02s offers a single 8MP main camera on the top with LED Flash at the bottom and a 5MP front camera with Aura screen light for your selfies.
Checking on the internal hardware of the phone, you have a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which you can further expand it up to 1TB via a microSD for more additional space.
The vivo Y02s is equipped with a massive 5,000 mAh battery and with that enormous size, it was able to be one of the thinnest phone with only 8.19mm thick.
It runs with vivo’s very own software the Funtouch OS based on Android 12 with some additional useful features like Easy Share to easily switch phones instantly; iManager to optimize the phone; Multi-Turbo 5.5 and Ultra Game mode for mobile gaming and a lot more.
For security, the vivo Y02s is equipped with Face Wake a facial recognition feature to safely unlock your device.
Conclusion
Although it’s an entry-level smartphone don’t underrate this phone as the vivo Y02s offers a very decent set of features that are suited for any activity or users. It has a reliable 5,000mAh battery that can get you throughout the day perfect for online learning. While the latest built-in processor can handle everyday tasks like updating your social media apps, web browsing and basic communication. For casual gamers, the vivo Y02s has the Multi Turbo 5.5 and Ultra mode for a better gameplay experience.
