Forland, in partnership with Solid Machinery and Diesel Parts, Inc. (SMDPI), launched its first-ever exclusive showroom in the Philippines at North EDSA last June 15, 2017. Shortly after its launch, Forland-SMDPI held its groundbreaking ceremony for its first knocked-down (KD) factory in Meycauayan, Bulacan on June 16, 2017. Both ceremonies were graced by the Forland General Manager Mr. Wang Tao together with SMDPI Chairman Mr. Henry Chua Sr. and Director Mr. Henry Chua II. Distinguished guests from the trucking industry and media also witnessed the prior event.
While the administration has never released specifics of the plan as of yet, but it is certain to focus on critical infrastructure projects across the nation. These include transportation, water resource management, sanitation, flood mitigation, maritime ports/harbors, social infrastructure, energy collection and generation, communications technology and more. Given the great distances and load requirements, there will certainly be a need for reliable trucks like those Forland has on offer.

Based on the plan, in next 3 years, Forland Philippines shall achieve the annual sales of 3,000 units. Meanwhile, the KD factory will start its first production by January of 2018 with expected annual production capability of 2,000 units and shall aggressively rise to 10,000 units within 3 to 5 years—contributing to Philippines’ infrastructure development.
