Review: Zendure SuperMini Go 20W Power Bank 10000mAh

Today, we have a hands-on review of a new product from Zendure. The new device came from our friends at Beyond The Box and Digital Walker the official distributor of the product.

It was our first time knowing about Zendure, and we found out that it is a charging technology company launched in 2013 based in Silicon Valley in the USA.

We will review the Zendure SuperMini Go 20W, a pocket-sized power bank built with a large battery and sports a unique design that stands out from the other power banks in the market.

The Zendure SuperMini Go 20W power bank is priced at P3,990 pesos and available in all Beyond The Box and Digital Walker stores nationwide. You can also purchase it via online e-commerce partners on Shopee and Lazada.

So, let’s check on the features and performance of the Zendure SuperMini Go 20W power bank.

Unboxing

The packaging box of the Zendure SuperMini Go is very simple clad in all-white color and made of thick cardboard material. You have a few printed elements on the box with the Zendure logo, models name, specifications, and certification markings.

It has a pull-out box in which you can immediately see the Zendure SuperMini Go device along with a side compartment that holds its accessories.

Out of the box, you’ll have the following contents the Zendure SuperMini Go Unit, USB-C & USB-A to USB-C Cable, Silicone Strap, Stickers, Warranty Card, and User Guide.

Design and Build Quality

As for its aesthetics, this is where the Zendure SuperMini Go stands out!

This power bank is so unique and gets a cool amazing design with the overall look sports a similar design to a retro digital camera. Zendure opted to lean away from the traditional power bank design in either the slim rectangle or credit card-type size. Even my friends thought I brought a digital camera but could not believe it when I told them it was a power bank.

At 224 grams, it is compact and portable that you can easily slip into your pocket, backpack, or even your purse. It is almost the size of a credit card with a thickness at around 28mm or 1.10 inches.

You can choose from three available colorways in Space Silver, Gradient Orange and our review unit in classic Galaxy Black.

The exterior casing of the device is made of durable polycarbonate material with a nice rubberized matte finish found all around the device.

At the front, you’ll see a Zendure logo on the top right corner, and the wireless charging pad on the camera lens. While the metallic viewfinder at the back functions as an LCD digital screen that shows the logo, remaining battery, and charging status. The battery indicator is much better at showing exactly how much battery is left instead of other power banks that offer three or four light indicators.

Still, on the back, it has these five ridge lines that offer a functional role because they keep the LCD screen protected when you lay it flat on the table.

The camera shutter button is bounded by a shiny bronze metallic ring design and acts as the power button located on the top. At the far-right end, you can put the included flexible rubber strap making it convenient to loop on your wrist. Printed below the device are some certification marks and information.

On the right side, you have two available ports with a USB-A and USB-C port.

10,000mAh with 20W Power Delivery

The Zendure SuperMini Go is equipped with a 10,000mAh battery using two polymer battery cells at 5,000mAh each.

The two ports on the SuperMini Go offer different charging power. The USB-C has power delivery feature having fast charging capabilities with up to 20W. Meanwhile, the USB-A supports ZEN+2.0, and Adaptive Quick Charge with up to 22.5W letting you take advantage of the fast charge feature on QC 3.0 compatible devices.

You can charge up to three devices simultaneously on the SuperMini Go letting you reduce from bringing multiple chargers with you. Plus, it has pass-through charging feature for you to charge the power bank and your devices at the same time.

With the 20W power delivery Zendure claims it can charge an iPhone 13 Pro to 50% in less than 30 minutes.

Wireless Charging

As we’ve mentioned, the SuperMini Go supports MagSafe’s 15W wireless charging to fast charge your AirPods and compatible iPhone models starting from the 12 series. The area of the wireless pad has a powerful magnetic docking mechanism making sure that your phone stays connected to the power bank during charging.

And if you’re not an Apple fan, the device also supports Android devices with Qi Wireless compatible devices like Samsung, HUAWEI, Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc. with up to 5W, 7.5W, and 15W power. The only drawback is that the Android devices will not be able to use the magnetic dock though.

X- Charge Mode

To extend its support for your low-power devices like Bluetooth earphones, smart watches, fitness bands, and more as the Zendure SuperMini Go is equipped with the X-Charge mode. Other conventional power banks usually are not designed to support low-power devices good thing this device can get along with any device.

To use the X-Charge mode, simply press the power button two times the LCD display will show the “low current mode” icon will appear. Press the power button two times again to turn off the X-Charge mode. Zendure recommends users to turn off the X-Charge mode when not in use to conserve the battery. In case you forgot to turn off the X-Charge mode, the device will automatically turn this feature off after two hours have passed.

Protective Features

To keep you safe and free from worry, the Zendure SuperMini Go has an array of built-in multi-faceted protection systems against overheating, short circuit or even power loss.

You have these comprehensive protection features such as: overcurrent protection, overpower protection, overvoltage protection, reset protection, overheat protection, short-circuit protection, input high-voltage protection, over-discharge protection and over-charge protection.

Additional protective measures are also placed in the wireless charging zone called Foreign Object Detection or FOB which can detect foreign objects and automatically prohibit the charging.

Charging Performance

The vivo X80 had a remaining 30 percent battery while the SuperMini Go was at 69 percent. A 15-minute charge gave us already a 53 percent battery on the phone, while the power bank left us only at 60 percent. It took us 1 hour and 27 minutes to fully charge the phone from 30 percent to 100 percent. The power bank from 69 percent went down to 30 percent.

We used an iPhone 12 to test the MagSafe wireless charging feature of the SuperMini Go. It instantly snaps onto the wireless pad area due to the magnet once the phone had contact with it.

The iPhone 12 we tested had a remaining 20 percent battery which went up to 31 percent after a 15-minute wireless charge on the SuperMini Go. The power bank during that time was at 73 percent and left us with only 69 percent battery.

Once the battery is depleted, charging the Zendure SuperMini Go took us 4 hours and 17 minutes to have a full charge from 0 to 100 percent.
