Review: Veger Power Bank VP 1056 10000mAh

As the smartphone industry across the globe are increasing each year, it also came in as a surprise the rise in demand of the power bank market segment urged some companies to develop and sell the product. The increase in usage of smartphones or tablets requires the consumer to recharge the device at least once a day.

According to Stratistics MRC: “The Global Power Bank market is accounted for $6.81 million in 2017 and is expected to reach $32.23 million by 2026 growing at a CAGR of 18.9% during the forecast period.” (www.strategymrc.com/report/power-bank-market)

One brand who entered the power bank industry is Veger, the company focuses on power bank supply chain and customize battery from Shenzhen, China. It’s one of the largest manufacturer of lithium polymer battery and certified under the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Standard with a monthly capacity production of 500,000 pcs.

Veger is now available here in the Philippines, we are lucky enough to try and test their latest power bank the Veger VP 1056 10000mAh model.

Packaging and Unboxing

The layout design of the packaging is clean, simple and with the necessary information about the power bank is printed on it. You can also open and lift the front cover of the box to reveal the product. It helps Veger’s customers to appreciate and see what the actual unit looks like before purchasing it.

Inside the box you get the Veger 10000mAh Power Bank, USB-A to micro USB Cable, Warranty Card and a Product Component Introduction Card which guides you to the different ports and functions you see in the power bank. Yes, don’t expect too much as this are the only items you get, there are no casing, pouch bag, sticker or even a USB Type-C cable included. We just observed that the micro USB included is short and we suggest that you might use your own cable from your smartphone or buy a new one. We suggest that Veger might want to develop a 2-in-1 charging cable, one micro USB and the other a Type-C, included in their next product developments.

Build and Quality

First thing I noticed when I hold the Veger power bank VP 1056 is the texture, the white front and back body of the device has a woven feel that adds on for a better grip although the material is made of plastic. The LED panel is covered and protected with a black plastic-glass material. Overall, the construction and material used in the power bank adds a premium feel to it.

Ports and buttons

All necessary plug-in ports are placed on the sides of the power bank, located on the top are two USB outputs with a 5V/1A and 5V/2A while in the middle there is a dedicated USB Type-C input to charge the power bank. Additional Micro USB input port is located at the right side which can be used to charge the VP 1056. Power button is assigned at the left side and triggers the LED Digital Display to show the battery status of the power bank.

LED Display

Another feature you’ll like on the VP 1056 is the built-in LED Digital Display indicator that shows the remaining battery status of the power bank as well as the output and port used when your charging your device. If you’re charging the power bank a “In” indicator will be displayed as well as how much power is needed to have it fully-charged. To know how much battery is left on the power bank, simply press the power button to show the four power indicator display as follows: 20 (20%), 50 (50%), 80 (80%) and 100 (100%).

Smart Protection

Veger equipped the VP 1056 with nine charging protection features to keep it safe from overcharging, overheat, overcurrent, short circuit, or discharging while the power bank is being used by your device or charging it. With this great feature rest assured your device is protected while using the power bank and vice versa.

Genuine Product Verification

Veger has made some anti-fake campaign initiatives and solutions for customers to know if the product they bought is original. First you’ll see a Veger 100% original gold foil sticker which is located on the top right of the box. Next a transparent sticker with Veger logo that seals the box at the top portion. At the back of the box you will notice a green label sticker with a Veger logo, QR code with a scratch coating below it that will reveal a 16-digit code. Input that code in Veger’s anti-fake online checker at: www.vegerpower.com/anti-fake.html, it will let you know if it’s 100% original Veger product.

Performance

The power bank has a battery capacity of 10,000mAh that can charge up to two smartphone devices at the same time with two outputs of 5V/1A or 5V/2A. Basically, if you are going to use the 5V/1A output it will have a slow charge to your phone.

We tried draining the battery of the Huawei Nova 3 to try charging it with the Verger power bank in 100-percent full charge using the 5V/2A output. Our initial test shows after 30 minutes with the Nova 3 we get a 34-percent charge on the device and the power bank with an 80-percent remaining battery. After one hour we get a 58-percent charge to the Nova 3 and the power bank at 71-percent. It took us around two and a half hours to have a fully charged Nova 3 with the remaining battery of the power bank at 52-percent. This is good as you still have enough power to charge it again.Charging the 10,000mAh Verger power bank will take you around four and a half hours to fully charge the device and use it again.

A little drawback of the power bank is it doesn’t have a fast charging technology unlike others that are available in the market now. But you get a solid and reliable power bank that does the job very well to juice up those powerful devices you own.
