Last year, we were excited to be among the first to try TechLife’s very first budget-friendly tablet, the TechLife Pad Neo. If you want to learn more about it just go this link.
For 2025, TechLife will add another model to their portable device lineup, the TechLife Pad Plus 12”. As the summer arrives, the TechLife Pad Plus 12” becomes one of your perfect companion to keep you entertained, connected, and in control while matching your on-the-go lifestyle.
In preparation for the coming school year, the TechLife Pad Plus 12” is also an ideal device students that features a widescreen display for note-taking and seamless connectivity via Wi-Fi or a single SIM card for online classes and research.
The TechLife Pad Plus 12” is priced at PHP 9,999 and is now available at TechLife Concept Stores, as well as online via Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop.
Let’s take a closer look at the new TechLife Pad Plus 12” and see what it has to offer.

Design and Build Quality
Let’s start with the available color options for the TechLife Pad Plus 12”. You can choose from Storm Grey, Sky Blue, and our review unit, Moonlight Silver.
It has a slim unibody design with rounded corners and is slightly heavy due to its aspect ratio, requiring both hands to hold it comfortably.
The back cover panel has a smooth surface made of durable plastic material with a nice shimmery silver metallic finish, adding a premium feel to the aesthetics despite having a simple design.
Prominently visible in the top-left corner is a vertically pill-shaped camera island which is stacked with another pill-shaped camera module housing the main camera and LED flash. The text ‘AI CAMERA’ is printed below them.

The placement of the ports and buttons are pretty much standard for this tablet with the right side edge housing the power button, volume rockers, microphone, and the SIM card tray for a 4G LTE connectivity. All of these are mounted with an aluminum frame for a sturdy feel and enhancing the overall aesthetics.

The left side is almost empty, with only a secondary microphone placed there.

The top edge has two speaker grilles.

There’s another two speaker grilles along with the USB-C port for charging or transferring data at the bottom edge.

Moving to the front in a vertical orientation, the screen bezels measure 7.17mm at the top, 7.3mm at the bottom, and 7.46mm on both sides. It still thin for a tablet and enough area for your thumb to rest
We feel that the unequal bezels are not a result of a design flaw but probably it’s a result of a balance between functionality and ergonomics. It looks equal when at first glance and it does not bother my viewing experience.
The front camera is positioned toward the right side at center of the top bezel which helps users aligns better with natural eye level during video calls.

Display
The tablet features a massive 12-inch screen with an 85% screen-to-body ratio, giving it a more rectangular shape and wider screen aspect ratio. This size is well-suited for watching videos, playing games, as well as for work or school.
It has a 2K TFT display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels and supports up to 2160p resolution on YouTube if you want more sharper or detailed images.
With a peak brightness of 450 nits, the screen is ideal for indoor use as we enjoy the vibrant colors and details. Outdoors, it may struggle under direct sunlight, but visibility of the screen remains sufficient on cloudy days.
Browsing the web and scrolling through social media apps is smooth and responsive, thanks to its 60Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate.
After using the tablet and experiencing the display, we are pleased with its good viewing angles, notable color reproduction, detailed images, and decent responsive touch, especially if you want to play games on it.

Performance
Inside its core, it is equipped with a 12nm MediaTek Helio G91 with clock speeds operating at 1.8GHz or up to a maximum of 2.0 GHz and paired with an ARM Mali G52 MC2 for its GPU.
The memory has an 8GB LPDDR4X with support for RAM expansion at 8GB bringing its total memory at 16GB of RAM.
The internal storage capacity offers a 256GB eMMC 5.1 flash storage for fast data transfer speeds and power efficiency. And if you’re the type of user who saves a lot of work or school files, you can expand your storage using a MicroSD card up to 1TB of additional space.

Here are the benchmark scores for the TechLife Pad Plus 12”:
- GeekBench 6 CPU: 412 Single Core / 1427 Multi-Core
- GeekBench 6 GPU: 1152 GPU OpenCL Score
- CPDT: 42 MB/s Write, 249.97 MB/s B/s Read
- 3DMark: 746 Average Frame Rate (fps) 4.47
- PCMark: 7933 Work 3.0 Performance Score
Based from the benchmark scores we got and our hands-on experience, the TechLife Pad Plus 12” performance is well-suited for everyday tasks such as web browsing, media consumption, video calls, and light productivity work. While it’s not designed for graphics-intensive gaming, it can still handle such games at default settings, and multitasking remains reliable for everyday use. The app loading times and overall responsiveness are decent.

Gaming on the tablet is quite enjoyable, it’s perfect for unwinding after a busy day if you’re not too competitive and just looking for some ‘me time’. We tried playing some of the popular game titles on the tablet. With Mobile Legends: Bang Bang the game ran very well when we set both the graphics quality and frame rate to High. It rendered smooth visuals without any lag and maintaining a steady 60fps.
For Call of Duty Mobile, the frame rates remain stable at 60fps when set to Medium graphics and frame rate at High. The tablet was able to play smooth and the image quality also stays consistently good throughout the game.

Playing In PUBG, the tablet allows you to set graphics to High and even reaching the frame rate to Ultra, but when switching to HD graphics, the frame rate is capped at High. All throughout the game we got a consistent 60 fps with sharp visuals and just a few lags in the middle of the game.
The only thing we noticed during all our gameplay was a slight buildup of warmth on the back panel during game sessions.
The audio quality of its quad stereo speakers is pretty decent as it is loud, clear vocals, and a well-balanced sound experience. Even if it does’nt come with any official audio certifications, we still satisfied that it delivers clear and sufficient sound quality for any media consumption, video calls, and casual gaming.

Connectivity
A standout feature of the device it is able to accommodate two nano SIM cards, supporting dual 4G LTE networks via its hybrid SIM card tray. You can now stay connected anytime, whether you’re working outside the office or at home. It also supports up to 10 devices connected via mobile hotspot.
We loaded one of our SIM cards, a DITO SIM, and so far, we experienced a smooth and stable connection even inside a mall. During our testing, web pages loaded quickly, video calls were clear, and streaming videos on YouTube or TikTok ran with minimal lag. We also tried playing MLBB, and the signal connection remained quite steady throughout the game.
It’s a reliable feature that makes the device a great option for mobile connectivity on the go, and it’s more secure than connecting to public Wi-Fi in places like malls or restaurants.

Camera and Photo Sample
The TechLife Pad Plus 12” has a 13MP rear camera using a CMOS sensor, 5P lens with an aperture of f/2.0.
For easy use during video calls for school or office meetings as well selfies, the front-facing camera has an 8MP lens.
The camera app interface is simple and features basic controls, making it easy to take photos and use the functions you need. There’s a 1x and 2x zoom options that can max zoom capabilities up to 4x, along with face detection for sharper facial details.
You can also record videos with resolutions at 1080p or 720p capped at 30fps only.
The quality of images you’ll get on the rear camera is decent especially during good lighting conditions. It has good detail with some noise, a fair amount of contrast and dynamic range, while the colors look natural.
Don’t expect the same image quality when shooting in low-light conditions, as it has noise and soft details, which we’ve experienced with this type of tablet at this price point.
It doesn’t have OIS, so if you’re holding the tablet while on the move, videos will appear very shaky.
The front-facing camera has a wide-angle view perfect for video calls like virtual work meetings or online classes. Its video quality is decent, as long as you have good lighting.

Software
The operating system of the TechLife Pad Plus 12” ships in with Android 15 topped with the TechLife Pad UI skin.
Users will be grateful that the device has minimal bloatware. You’re free to install only what you need especially office suite app like WPS Office or Microsoft Office. The essential Google apps are already included like Chrome, Gmail, Meet etc.

It now comes with Google’s AI-powered assistant with Google Gemini, which you can easily access it by long-pressing the home or power button.
With its wide 12-inch screen, the tablet is notable for multitasking with its split-screen mode. When in landscape orientation, there’s plenty of space to comfortably view and use two apps side by side more efficient and less cramped compared to smaller tablets.

To use the split screen mode, just simply hold down the app you want, select the split screen option and then choose a second app to display alongside it. You can adjust the size of each app by sliding the divider in the center.
A floating window or pop-up view isn’t supported on this device, another feature that would have made good use of the screen real estate. I hope on the next model they’ll include it.

Battery
The tablet has a 8000mAh battery and supports PE 2.0 18W fast charging for quick power-ups with a USB Type-C. Charge your other devices with the Reverse Charging feature with a rated capacity of 5W acting as a reliable backup power.
It reached 23% battery after a 30-minute charge then climbed to 74% after an hour, and took us around 2 hours and 22 minutes for a full charge from 0 to 100%.
The brand claims that the battery can lasts up to 30.1 hours of calls, 554 hours of standby time, 12.7 hours of music playback, and 3 hours of video playback.

Running low on power? The TechLife Pad Plus 12” has a battery saver feature that helps extend battery life. However, the device will switch to dark mode and limit certain features.
The TechLife Pad Plus 12” gave us a decent battery life which made us to use it for nearly the entire day under light usage, including a few hours of gaming, social media scrolling, web browsing, and catching up on pending articles. For heavy users, you can expect it to last until around the afternoon.
But since it’s a portable device, you can easily use a power adapter or your power bank to recharge the battery again and continue with your task without interruption.
