Build Quality and Design

The overall charging case of the SoundPEATS H1 is made of durable plastic material, weighs only 44 grams and has a nice slim design making it easier to put into my pocket. It has a two tone color matte effect with the cover lid in a space gray type color and the other half in black. There is a USB Type-C charging port and status LED Indicator for the battery case at the back. Opening the lid, you have four status LED indicator and the magnetic charging slots for the earbuds. Lastly, a SoundPEATS logo can be found on the top of the cover lid.

Aside from the USB Type-C port this case can also be charged wirelessly if you have a Qi Wireless charger which is another advantage if you have one. The 500mAh battery capacity of the case can get it a full charge up to 90 minutes. It does not support any quick charge technology.

On the earbuds we liked the overall design as they are not too large. It is still made of durable plastic material with a clear transparent plastic part in which you can see partially the drivers inside. The touch control area has a metal type material with a SoundPEATS logo and LED Indicator. These earbuds fit nicely and comfortable in my ear. They are so far stable, however because the earbuds are snug into my ears, it prevented me to hear any noise outside. So, if you will be wearing the H1 outside your home, I recommend that you to be very cautious of your surroundings or use one earbud just to be safe.

You also have some available extra eartips if you need to get the perfect fit and comfort. Included in the package are a Comply TrueGrip premium earphone tips that offers super-soft memory foam, maximum noise isolation and a more stay-in-ear fit.

Playtime on the SoundPEATS H1 gives you up to 10 hours of usage and with the charge case can push you to use the earbuds up to 40 hours. So far during our intial test we watched a 2-hour movie plus listen to a few music videos on YouTube. The SoundPEAT H1 still has an 80% battery which is quite impressive.

Touch Controls, Pairing and Game Mode Feature

To pair the SoundPEATS H1 to your device was very easy, simply take out the earbuds from the case then it will start the pairing process.

My Samsung Galaxy Note phone and Macbook easily found the earbuds right away. With just a simple click both earbuds paired together immediately and that I didn’t have to go through a manner where one earbud has to pair to the device first. It was effortless pairing both earbuds which I really loved and appreciate.

The touch controls on the H1 are good and by far accurate. A single tap on the left earbuds decreases the volume while the right side increase it. Double tap if you want to play/pause on the device you’re paired with or answering/hanging up calls.

Here are some of the touch controls on the SoundPEATS H1:

  • Auto Power On/Off – Take out/Place back the earbuds
  • Play/Pause – Double tap the right MFB
  • Previous/Next Track – Long Press the left/right MFB for 1.5 seconds
  • Answer/Reject Phone Calls – Double tap the MFB
  • Volume Down/Up – Single tap the left (down) / right (up) MFB
  • Switch Between 2 Active Calls – Long press MFB for 2 seconds
  • Active Voice Assistance – Triple tap MFB on right earbud
  • Game Mode – Triple tap MFB on left earbud

Nice additional features added on the SoundPEATS H1 are Voice Assistant and Game mode. With just a triple tap on the right earbud activates your voice assistant like on my Samsung Galaxy Note I can command Bixby to interact on my phone. You can have AI Assistance on the H1 by immediately using a simple voice command to accept or reject calls hands-free.

With game mode activated (triple tap on left earbud) you get a smoother and lag-free connection with the H1. I tried it playing Mobile Legends and Call of Duty, the sounds are in sync and so far no delays. To turn off the game mode option, just triple tap it again.

Sound Quality and Performance

I tested the sound quality of the H1, and by far was not upset of the quality it produces thanks to its enhanced 8.6mm dynamic driver and Knowles balanced armature driver. I loved how the vocals are clear, the separation between the mids and lows are defined. I would also like to mention how the pleasant bass has enough depth which you can feel it in your ears. Playing Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, Queen’s Under Pressure, Red Hot Chili Peppers Can’t Stop or even Metallica’s For Whom The Bell Tolls sounded magnificent especially on the guitar strums or riffs, as this device does not fall short regardless of genre of music.

Call quality on the SoundPEATS H1 is good and clear enough when you hear the person you’re talking to as it features a 4-mic setup located on the top and at the bottom of the earbuds. However, the receiver on the other end may sometimes experience your voice a little distant or low so you may have to speak a little louder at some point as the microphone is a bit far from your mouth unlike other earbuds with a stem type design.

Conclusion

The SoundPEATS H1 sound quality is by far amazing and immersive especially if you are listening to music, watching videos and online gaming. You get an impressive charging case that offers wireless charging and more battery to charge the earbuds.

Although, it does really block the ambient noise outside, we would recommend you be cautious using it outdoors especially if you’re commuting or walking.

Overall, our experience on the H1 is really outstanding and the price maybe a little expensive for you even if it retails with a promo price of PHP3,790. You’re investing on a TWS that will give you a really upright sound experience either for your music or movies.
