Review: Limited-editon 2021 Kingston Mini Cow USB Flash Drive 64GB Unboxing + Key Features

It was in 1999 when the first USB 1.0 and 1.1 was invented and released, it had tons of disputes as to who actually invented the said device. But if we realized how far we’ve come since they were first created and how the USB flash drive we know today has advanced through the years.

Packaging

Obviously, you can clearly see that Kingston creatively used its packaging for the Mini Cow USB in a form of a milk bottle. It’s very cute, refreshing to see and it makes a perfect gift for friends, co-workers and family. After I got the delivery and opened the pouch, I immediately loved the case!

The milk bottle is made of clear plastic material while the top cover in white which looks like a cloth is made of rubber with a ball chain keychain above it. You can instantly see the attractive USB mini cow encased inside and a nice label that has a Kingston Milk 100% print.

Opening the packaging is easy as you need to take off the tape all around in the middle of the bottle.

Design and Build

The design for the Mini Cow USB drive features a cute ovular-shaped design cow figure that exemplifies joy, fullness and prosperity. Checking out the quality of this USB, Kingston incorporated some amazing details as well as creativity into it. You can see it has some delicate pattern, metallic details, and smooth texture with a matte-finish.

It has a shock-resistant feature using a protective rubber casing which ensures durability to protect your important data.

On the back there’s a keychain ring design for portability and as a bonus you can turn it into a personal lucky charm.

Performance

We tried the Kingston Mini Cow USB on our Macbook Pro Touch Bar but unfortunately it doesn’t have a USB port (all 4 ports are USB Type-C) so we used a USB adapter. Once we plug-in the USB, in just a matter of seconds it began to work and we can see the driver already labeled as Kingston. We transferred some MP3 songs around 75MB in total size and right away in just a second its copied into the USB. Next, we transferred some video files around 16.13 GB in total size. It took only 19 minutes to save all the files in the Mini Cow USB.

Below is our disk speed test using Xbench with a read and write speed result.

The Kingston limited-edition mini cow USB drive retails for only PHP1,150 now available through Lazada and Shopee Kingston official stores and other authorized channels.
