Unboxing
The packaging of the Kingston Mini Rabbit USB Drive is encased in a very stylish and cute cold-pressed carrot juice bottle. The main body of the bottle is transparent made of durable polycarbonate material with a white bottle cap and a ball chain on top of it.
There’s a label design and you’ll instantly glimpse the cute Rabbit USB Drive inside the bottle.
Opening the bottle you’ll only just receive the Mini Rabbit USB Drive and the label with some few information found on the back.
Build Quality and Design
As soon as we get hold of the USB Flash Drive, it was so adorable and cute with the mini rabbit chewing on a carrot. The mini rabbit has a peach colored body instead of white and has a gold ring around its ears.
It has incorporated the same classic ovular shape design and features a smooth rubber casing that helps protects the files inside the USB drive from accidental drops in all directions.
On its tail there’s a provision to use the ball chain from the bottle cap to have it as a convenient keyring that enables you to take the device wherever you go.
Pulling out the rabbits ear is where the attached USB Flash Drive is found with a matte gold finish on the USB plug. On the USB plug there’s a printed Kingston logo and the 64GB storage capacity.
Performance
The Mini Rabbit USB flash drive offers a large storage capacity of 64GB which Kingston claims that it can accommodate 16,000 photos, 244 minutes of video at 1080p resolution, 16,600 MP3 files and an array of document files.
In general, it is most likely suitable for students or office use to store large files and save important data whether it’s a document, image or videos.
The device supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 (which used to be called USB 3.0), it has a transfer rate of 5 Gbps which is about 10 times faster than the previous USB type out there. It is still compatible with USB 2.0. and all traditional operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Chrome OS.
We measured its read and write performance using Amorphous Disk Mark 4.0. So far we got good results on the 64GB capacity, it’s capable of reaching 217.31 mb/s read and 69.61 mb/s write speeds which is more than Kingston claims on the transfer speeds.
We also tried to transfer 8.84GB of files which includes videos, mp4 voice records, Photoshop layouts, photos and documents from my MacBook directly to the USB storage. It took us only 9 minutes to complete the file transfer which is pretty fast.
