After the successful launch of the realme 12 Series 5G with its three models – realme 12 Pro+ 5G, realme 12+ 5G, and realme 12 5G, realme Philippines kicks off the second half of the year by bringing in its latest offering still under the number series, the realme 12.
With the realme 12 coming this month, it completes the realme 12 series for the year offering users an affordable option equipped with a vibrant display, impressive camera sensor, and long-lasting battery life. The realme 12 is an ideal phone for yuppies, Gen Z, seasoned workforce, millennials, and even early to middle aged parents.
We’ve spent the past few days with the realme 12, we are still under embargo, please allow us to share a few of its key features and unbox the new device.
So, let’s dive in for a first look.
Unboxing
The realme 12 arrives in its familiar golden yellow packaging box and still maintains the brand’s signature minimalist design. All of the box is constructed using a thick cardboard material and if you look closely at the top cover, it has an attractive striped line patterns with UV coating elevating the overall packaging design.
Printed elements seen on the front and sides of the box are the model’s name and a realme logo. While the back portion of the box shows the key features, company information, IMEI, and certification marks.
Taking out the top cover box will reveal an inner yellow compartment box containing some of the included accessories.
Underneath the compartment box is the realme 12 unit and a plastic tray with the other remaining accessories.
If you take everything out of the box, you have the following items:

There’s no need to buy a screen protector as the phone comes with it that’s already pre-applied and provides an extra layer of protection right out of the box.
For Now, Here’s What You Should Know
Our review unit arrived in a Pioneer Green color variant. The design and colorway almost resemble to the realme 12 5G that we tested last April, but we can already spot some few differences.
The screen size of the realme 12 offers a 6.67-inch using an AMOLED display panel with resolutions of 2400 x 1080 pixels and supports a higher peak brightness.
For the main camera, it is equipped with a high-resolution lens at 50MP using a Sony sensor with optical image stabilization that can help reduce blur due to the motion of a camera during exposure.
The realme 12 is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for a SUPERVOOC fast charging technology to quickly juice up the phone. realme claims it can charge the battery from a 1 percent to 50 percent in just 19 minutes and 100 percent full charge for only 47 minutes.
