New Animal Town Mobile Game was launched held at the DENR Central Office, Quezon City
The mobile game application is called Animal Town, a simple, casual, simulation game where the user plays as a recruit in a biodiversity advocates team to help a group of talking animals manage a town to conserve biodiversity. It provides players with verified and insightful information on biodiversity and features instances and scenarios which are random or triggered by certain actions. There are 3 different types of quests that a user can do in the game:
- Dispatch quests – Players dispatch people living in their village on quests such as gather
information or preventing illegal activities - Scenario quests – Some of the village dwellers might request for help in two forms: find a person
in the village or answer trivia questions - Daily quests – Daily quests are repeatable activities within the core gameplay loop that reward
players with currencies in the game to increase retention.
The mobile game app and its revenue will be managed by the Forest Foundation Philippines, a non-profit organization providing grants and technical assistance to individuals and organizations that protect and conserve the forests.
The DENR- Biodiversity Management Bureau will identify biodiversity conservation priorities that will be supported by the revenue generated by Animal Town.
