Petron donates complete sets of PPEs to several COVID-19 hospitals

Petron Corporation through Petron Foundation continued with its efforts to assist medical frontliners in providing complete sets of personal protective equipment to several COVID-19 referral hospitals. The sets include PPE suits, medical goggles, N95 and surgical masks, and medical gloves.

Petron was able to raised funds through its Petron Value Card (PVC) holders and a corresponding contribution from the company. Recipients of the complete PPE sets were the Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine General Hospital, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium, and San Lazaro Hospital.

Since March, Petron has been actively helping the country overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has previously distributed pre-loaded PVCs to doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff as a token of appreciation for their invaluable service and sacrifice. It also donated free fuel to help frontliners in Luzon, Iloilo, Tagbilaran, and Cebu avail of free transport. Special discounts were also extended to workers from various sectors.

Petron has also been helping bring essential food items closer to communities in order to minimize health risks. Through the efforts of its parent company, San Miguel Corporation (SMC), a number of Petron stations continue to serve as sites for  San Miguel Foods Inc.’s Manukang Bayan rolling store concept and recently, the Department of Agriculture’s KADIWA project which aims to assist farmers in the province sell their fresh harvest in Metro Manila.

Over a million pesos in assistance was also extended to Petron Tulong Aral scholars. Petron service station dealers and LPG and lubes distributors all over the country have also initiated their own CSR activities to help in their respective areas, as well as their own staff, cope with the challenges brought by COVID-19.
