The Office for Strategic Partnerships and Global Engagement (OSPGE) hosted a career seminar, “Career Takeoffs: Preparing for a Career in Aeronautical Engineering,” on March 13, 2024. This event aimed to give the Mapúa MCL community a deeper understanding of the field, especially for students considering this program.
Engr. Alessandro Rossi from Airbus UK shared his career path and real-world experiences in aeronautical engineering. He highlighted the importance of both personal and professional skills for success. Personal skills like teamwork, communication, and self-management were also emphasized, along with technical skills like problem-solving and critical thinking.
The Mapúa-Laguna Institute of Aviation (MIA) offers a comprehensive B.S. Aeronautical Engineering program designed to equip students for successful careers in the aviation sector. The curriculum covers core areas like aerodynamics, aircraft design, and propulsion systems. Students gain practical experience through labs, projects, industry placements, applying their knowledge in real-world settings.
“Collaborating with industry leaders is crucial. These partnerships provide students with the skills, experiences, and connections needed to thrive in a competitive job market. Mapúa MCL remains committed to these partnerships, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for fulfilling careers,” stated by Ms. Pearl Ulep, OSPGE Director.
By fostering strategic partnerships, Mapúa MCL values these opportunities to enhance the community’s understanding of diverse career paths, guiding students toward successful professional endeavors.
