M4 World Championship starts with a series of dominant performances

The first day of the M4 World Championship saw favourites dominate in an exciting start to the international tournament.

Defending champions Blacklist International got off to a winning start as they held off Incendio Supremacy. Wise surprised everyone again with his unorthodox pick, using Valentina as a jungler just as he did in the Grand Finals of MPL PH S10. The move paid off as he delivered a stellar performance, getting the MVP and his team the win. Fueled by their defeat earlier, Incendio Supremacy went on to sweep dark horses Falcon Esports aside easily, getting off the mark in the group stage.

In what was the closest contest of the night, Falcon Esports edged Burn x Flash in a match that lasted over 20mins. Both teams went back and forth but ultimately, Burn x Flash fell with only two members left to defend.

Malvinas Gaming kickstarted their tournament with a convincing win over MDH Esports, as they pressed forward with their gold advantage and never looked back. However, in a one-sided contest, Malvinas Gaming later got dominated by TODAK, as the Malaysian team got their M4 tournament off to a strong start. TODAK would later carry this momentum into their group’s toughest match, beating one of the strongest teams in the tournament, ONIC Esports, in a thrilling contest.
