While growing old is a privilege not everyone can enjoy, it also brings its fair share of challenges. Progressive health conditions can affect the quality of life and temperament in old people, and when their immediate families are not equipped to take care of them properly, they end up in homes for the aged.
M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. showed their appreciation to the lolos and lolas of Davao City through a love drive. They partnered with the Care for the Elderly Foundation, Inc. to share some blessings to the foundation’s 53 resident elders.
On February 23, 2021, M Lhuillier paid a visit to the Care for the Elderly Foundation in Purok 4, Biao Guinga, Tugbok, Davao City to donate personal hygiene essentials such as tissues, toothbrushes and toothpastes, and hand soaps. The foundation also received much-needed cleaning supplies such as zonrox, detergents, and mops in order to help maintain a clean and orderly home for the elders.
The program was spearheaded by M Lhuillier Regional Manager Robert P. Achurra, Area Managers Emily Desierto, John Arnel Desierto, Charlie Liban, and RJ Tabugon. They were joined by M Lhuillier OPEC Apo Duwaling President Julie Mae Yap, and her officers Carlo Cobrado, Angelyn Castanares, Jaide Lequido, Ray Enojoh, Sharmaine Mandabon, and Jumary Yap.
The event was attended by Care for the Elderly Foundation’s residents, along with the organization’s executive director Fe Bada Arobo, who helped receive the donations.
By sharing kindness and blessings to these elders, M Lhuillier aims to remind them that age is a badge of honor for the lives they lived. It also serves as a reminder that there are still people willing to care, comfort, understand and love them as what family does, which is what M Lhuillier is all about.
