Unboxing

The packaging box of the Infinix NOTE 12 is made of thick cardboard material with the top cover in color white and the inner box holding all the items in black. The overall print finishing of the box is impressive, you have a variety of finishing effect like the embossed pattern design on the top cover, foil stamping and matte UV lamination effect.

Opening the box you’ll immediately see the Infinix NOTE 12 unit

Taking out the contents of the box you’ll first see the Infinix NOTE 12 unit then comes a jam-packed accessories such as the SIM Ejector Tool, USB Type-C cable, 33W Power Adapter, User Manual, Warranty card, XCLUB XGOLD Voucher and a Clear Protective Case.

They also add on a screen protector that’s already applied on the display of the unit.

Design and Build Quality

The Infinix NOTE 10 has a squared-off slab like design with curved flat edges on each sides which I still find it comfortable to hold and easily navigate on the display.

It weighs around 185 grams with thickness measuring at 7.89 mm making it lightweight and offers an ultra-sleek design.

At the back cover, we have the Force Black color for our review unit plus two more available colorways to choose from in Snowfall and Sapphire Blue.

Made of durable plastic material, the back panel of the Force Black gets this amazing flowing wave pattern effect in a matte finish to prevent any fingerprint smudges on it. The camera module has a triple-camera setup and LED flash while an Infinix logo at the bottom left.

The frame is made of plastic instead of metal with the edges of Infinix NOTE 10 you’ll find the SIM card slot on the top left while located on the right are the volume rockers and the power/sleep button that houses the fingerprint sensor is totally flush to the body. At the bottom you still get the 3.5mm port for your wired headphones, USB Type-C port, speaker grille and microphone. On the top you have nothing up there.

On the front, the display is made of glass protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass with the selfie camera on top gets a waterdrop notch design. There’s also an available LED flash found on the top right corner which is quite handy for clearer selfies during low light situations.

Bezels all around the screen are thin except for the bottom chin which is slightly thick.

Display

One of the key highlights of the Infinix NOTE 12 is its large screen. Opening the display for the first time you will be greeted with a nice set of contrast, vibrant colors and decent brightness levels.

It has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ resolution AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 92% screen-to-body ratio.

With the its huge screen there’s plenty of size to watch your favorite content, browse through your social media, scroll your photo gallery or play games.

Hardware and Battery

Under the hood the Infinix NOTE 12 comes with a powerful MediaTek Helio G96 processor which can smoothly perform any task you throw on the device and ensures a better gaming experience.

It has an internal storage of 128GB expandable up to 1TB via microSD, 8GB memory with 5GB virtual RAM extending it up to 13GB and ARM Mali-G57 MC2 for its GPU. There’s also an available 256GB storage variant if you wish for a bigger storage.

Aside from all the great internal specs built in the Infinix NOTE 12, they still manage to equipped it with a massive 5000mAh battery. It has 33W fast charging feature to quickly juice up the huge battery using a USB Type-C cable.

Camera

The Infinix Note 12 boasts of a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The third lens however is listed on the specs as “Q” which we shall be soon finding its purpose on the next few days of our review.

For selfies, you have a 16MP front facing camera with available LED flash both on the front and rear.

Recording videos gives you a range of resolution to choose from either in 2K, 1080p or 720p resolution at 30 frames per seconds.

Here are some few photos we can share during our initial camera test with the Infinix NOTE 12.

We will post more sample photos, dwell on the camera app and check the quality of the video on the NOTE 12 in our full review.

First Impressions

Honestly, we’re a bit surprised when we found out the official price point for the Infinix NOTE 12.

At PHP 8,999, the Infinix NOTE 12 gets an arsenal of impressive features starting off with a powerful MediaTek Helio G96 processor, AMOLED screen, a standard 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, triple-camera setup, 5,000 mAh battery and the latest Android 12 software.

The overall form factor of the NOTE 12 is massive it will require big hands to navigate throughout display but it’s still comfortable to hold and lightweight.

Watching some few videos on the AMOLED display is amazing already thanks to its huge 6.7-inch screen size. If you love playing mobile games this phone will be an advantage for you.

It looks like the Infinix NOTE 12 will definitely be one of the best affordable mid-range smartphone in the market today.
