The ISSCC (International Solid-State Circuits Conference) 2020 published 11 technical papers submitted by MediaTek, the highest amount selected for a technology company. This prestigious recognition underscores MediaTek’s global reputation as a leading semiconductor company with cutting-edge technology driving the industry forward.
Since 2004, MediaTek’s papers have been selected and published by the ISSCC every year. By the end of 2019 ISSCC have published 68 articles from MediaTek, showcasing how the company’s technology and innovation continue to receive recognition worldwide. Dr. Lawrence Loh Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek, was invited to give a keynote speech on “Fertilizing AIoT from Root to Leaves” at the 2020 ISSCC Annual Forum, focusing on how ICs can meet the requirements of future applications for the Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things (AIoT). “Innovation is a key element in MediaTek’s business philosophy,” Loh shared. “We participate in the ISSCC seminar to inspire a creative work culture by continuing to connect with research and production experts in the international semiconductors and chip systems fields,” he added. The company’s core focus on innovation has helped MediaTek recognize and capitalize on international development trends.
MediaTek’s 11 papers accepted at the ISSCC focus on the following topics: applications of 5G and AI in the AIoT, including high-performance mobile phone processors and edge AI processors; advanced communications technologies for accelerated cloud AI, including 5G, Wi-Fi 6 wireless RF circuits and next-generation 112Gbps wired data transmission; high dynamic range automotive image processors; multi-function biosensors; and fast charging technologies and terminal solutions for mobile phones, automobiles and wearable devices.
MediaTek is one of the few semiconductor companies with such a broad portfolio of solutions powering a wide range of application technologies. The company’s products power smart phones, smart homes, smart cities, smart buildings, smart factories, automotive electronics and much more. MediaTek is committed to sharing resources with the wider community to assist in AIoT ecosystem development, working closely with its industry partners and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to speed up the development of intelligent devices for a variety of industries.
ISSCC 2020 included 210 papers from leading universities, research institutions and companies from around the world. IEEE’s ISSCC has been publishing papers for 66 years and is the world’s most well-known international conference on solid-state circuits. The summit released papers on some of the industry’s newest and most advanced chip technology, while also representing the development trends of the integrated circuit industry.
