09Forever: Mobile Number Portability (MNP) lets you keep your number forever

On September 30, 2021, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, mobile number portability (MNP) was launched in the Philippines by Telecommunications Connectivity Incorporated (TCI), a joint venture of the three major telcos, DITO Telecommunity, Globe Telecom, and Smart Communications.

MNP is a global practice that enables mobile phone customers to keep their numbers even when they switch networks or change their subscription from postpaid to prepaid and vice versa, free of charge.

The porting process may be completed within 48 hours, excluding lead times for a subscriber to pay outstanding bills as well as shipping time for SIM delivery. Taking health and safety protocols into consideration, the three telcos have adopted measures that enable customers to apply on-line and have their new SIM delivered to their doorsteps. Customers are encouraged to check the respective websites of their current mobile networks to know their MNP application options (in-store / online) and learn the step-by-step guide for a more convenient porting experience.

Customers may also refer to the TCI Facebook Page https://web.facebook.com/tcimnp and TCI Website www.tcimnp.com.ph where they can find answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about MNP.

To further spread information on MNP and help customers learn more about the service, TCI recently launched the 09Forever Campaign on the TCI Facebook and YouTube Pages. Go ahead and switch networks but keep your number, because with MNP your number is forever.
