Taking the safe road during the holy week

For Filipinos, the summer season means beaches, road trips, and a time when families can bond over travel. Now that the Holy Week break is just around the corner, most are probably pinning down their their out-of-town itineraries and hoping that their drive to their destination goes smoothly.

As we welcome another one of the most awaited long weekends in the 2017 calendar, motorists should keep in mind the tips and guides that will get them to their destinations safe and prepared for whatever comes next.

How will you get ready?

Many factors get in the way of a smooth and easy drive such as traffic, bad weather, or accidents on the road—all of which can be unbearable, untimely, and unpredictable. This is why motorists look to digital solutions in being one step ahead, by downloading apps that can provide them with arrival estimates, weather predictions, and pit stops along the way.

As the partner of every Filipino’s journey for the past hundred years, Pilipinas Shell sees itself as exactly that: an oasis of safety with delightful offerings for every traveler’s needs – from quality fuels and lubricants, to reliable maintenance services, availability of basic necessities, and filling, delicious food.

Taking this commitment to the next level, Pilipinas Shell also strengthened its long-time partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) by making an emergency hub for motorists nationwide. Through the Itaga Mo Sa Bato Quick Alert App activated across all of Shell’s service stations, Pilipinas Shell has made itself an easy-access point of contact for any emergency assistance.

A safety hub on the road

The station-based app assists Shell customers who stop by or call to report road accidents, fire and medical emergencies, or crimes within or near a Shell station. Each station is equipped with an Itaga Mo Sa Bato phone, which, upon activation, reports the emergency to the nearest police station. This makes Shell service stations de facto extension centers of the local police.

Since its launch, the app has already provided a quick response to various incidents that have occurred in and within the vicinity of a service station, making both Filipino motorists and Shell service champions feel safer with Shell.

With this, Pilipinas Shell has further solidified itself as a haven of safety. It also ensures that it’s every family’s companion this summer by making sure that each trip is safe and worry-free, wherever they are headed.
