Review: Cloudfone Go SP – Spotify Edition

Review: Cloudfone Go SP – Spotify Edition

Review by: Ney Dimaculangan

SO I GOT THE CHANCE to get my hands on this entry-level smartphone the Cloudfone Go that comes with Spotify edition earphones. The first thing I noticed is its round edges that I think is a good thing, especially when putting it in your pockets. Next, I checked that it has a removable battery with a decent 2,000mAh power with enough hours of usage. But installing the battery inside the phone took me awhile to figure it out, maybe just because I’m not familiar with Android phones.

The good thing with this smartphone it has a 8GB storage and expandable MicroSD memory slot up to 32GB plus it can accommodate 2 SIM cards. Other features of the Cloudfone Go are: Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, 512 MB RAM, 1.3 Quad Core Processor, 5MP rear camera with flash, VGA front camera and can connect thru 3G, Wifi and Bluetooth. It has a 5-inch FWGA Touchscreen display enough to deliver a nice viewing experience. And lastly, comes bundled with a FREE Spotify Earphones.

As for appearance, the smartphone has a shiny front glass finish and a criss-crossed carbon-like design at the back. The polycarbonate back cover is also interchangeable.

When you turn on the phone there’s a brief intro of Spotify. Then I eventually clicked on the camera app first which I think most of us selfie generation peeps would always check on a cellphone. Only to find out how frustrating the quality is because the front camera is VGA quality.

Moving forward, I tried on some of the built-in apps that came with the phone. I can’t help to notice the delay response when clicking the tabs. I have no complaints when browsing the Internet, making calls and sending text messages. I think it’s decent enough to handle low memory usage apps or the basic apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube.

I tried putting on the free Spotify edition earphones and opened the built-in Spotify app as well. I then searched for my own album and songs because I know how it should sound like. Hhmmm…not what I expected. For me, the quality is the same as with any other generic android earphones in the market. It means that it’s not that good or maybe because I’m used to earphones or headphones with high quality outputs when I’m recording or mixing songs. But I will let you do your own judging on this matter.

The Cloudfone Go Spotify Edition is priced for P2,299 and available in all Cloudfone Kiosks/Stores and authorized distributors or retailers nationwide.
